Good place to enhance your knowledge and confidence
I was managing the implant single handedly though at the end of the day the number of tickets you issued is less your not even a minute sitting idle ..numerous phone calls clients coming to your cabin for queries will make your day pass in a swish .since 98% is international travel the queries will be related to visa process application updates choosing airlines rates quality etc.which means you have to be completely thorough and confident about what you advise the clients .Keep updating yourself about visa information .
I have learned to be very patient with the clients and to do multi task if not your work will never get over .
My co workers in other implants were my stress busters. company had a policy of once in a month dinner outing .when is the time we share our knowledge and experience mostly we managed to learn fro others mistakes .
Hardest part of the job was since the BNP Paribas never gave a lan connection i had to use doggle for ticketing which was very slow and it took ages to issue an ticket .
I loved job a) i had an opportunity to enhance my visa and international ticketing knowledge single handedly b)since i worked alone i developed the confidence to manage any implant single handed.c)i had achieved the clients confidence in me within a short period of time
Consi never had a desecnt net conncetion in my implant

The day at BNP starts with reviewing the trade file and broker statement sent by client and book the same in the fund. Go for end to end reconciliations process of stock, cash, derivatives, and TA, and CFD. Launch the fund after various reconciliations are done to calculate the Net Asset Value of the fund.
I learned end to end NAV calculation including booking of trades, margins, reconciliations, and finally calculate NAV.
At BNP Paribas we work on the basis of deadlines. I use to perform end to end reconciliations of around 150 funds. We have deadlines every half and hour which is quite challenging.
I learned to manage time and handle pressure situations. I successfully migrate 14 major clients to end to end reconciliations process.
I have the ability and skills to deliver the funds on time with an exceptional quality,
I learned to process equity and hedge funds at BNP Paribas.
The NAV calculation part is the most enjoyable in the whole process.
BNP Paribas ISPL cater to APAC,EMEA and NA regions. It provides excellent work culture and work life balance when it comes to EMEA and NA projects, however, APAC projects are quite demanding in nature(mainly because EMEA and NA projects are managed well from onshore as compared to APAC projects).
The management at BNPP ISPL is supportive and considerate and normally takes a firm stand for the teams/individuals for reasonable causes. The only point of improvement for the management is they can look to recognize individuals' contributions in a manner better than the current one.
The organization lacks long term onsite opportunities for the individuals , therefore , if someone is looking for onsite opportunities , then this place is not for him/her. Typically onsite exposure can last from 2 weeks-1 month except in a few exceptional cases.
Overall, the organization can look to think out of the box and come out of the traditional practices followed since ages.
BNP is a time bound company that means one have strict working hours and its our duty to finish the work in definite time thus it avoid the concept of late working hours. This indeed gives a better professional life to employees working here thus a better personal life.
This company hires only experienced employees so the learning factor is more. You tend to learn new things from experienced people.
The management here is also very good. Well managed canteen, buses , perks m benefits, bonus etc.
The hardest part was that it was not a consultant company that means the softwares which we were developing was for the Bank itself so it had to be taken care more accurately.
The most enjoyable part were the trips in which we were sent to different countries for work and training purpose with our co-workers. So you can visit different countries and can enjoy along with the work.
My job was quite stressful. But i was enjoying because the environment was awesome. Excellent team members with lots of fun. We help each other in completing on time. So that our entire team gets the gets the reward. I learned lot of thing practically. The concept what i read in my college days I applied the same in my job. Each day was very new to me because all the funds don't work in the same process. Each funds has its own time and own process to calculate the NAV. The stressful thing in the job is we don't know when the pricing is given. We need to wait for the pricing. It may come quickly or it may get delayed by an hour or more than that. From the pricing is inn timing we have just twenty to thirty mins to send the fund. Within the short time its quite difficult to finish the process for ten to fifteen funds at a time.
Work at BNP Paribas was extensive and it was necessary to be focused to avoid errors. There were no diversions from work.
I became more diligent when i worked with this company. As i was processing Australia and South East Asia transaction, i had to start work at 6 am which would continue till 5 pm or more. This helped me changed my attitude towards corporate life. My co-workers were very helpful and they put in full efforts to make me understand the kind of transactions i was processing. There were several sessions arranged by the company like stress busters, self-defense workshops for women, karaoke etc. We could participate provided we complete the work first.
ProsThere was no free lunch. But food coupons were provided at a discounted rate.
ConsI could take breaks other than lunch and breakfast, the company also provided health insurance and provident fund services.
People are very good and usally supportive.
Depending on team you can be give rotational shifts.
Management sucks here. My manager did not have any idea about the work and people.
The pattern here goes like they will hire you and tell there is no contract period and you will be given fair chance but they actually throw people out after an year so that they will not give you hike and hire people at lower wages.
Your hardwork and performance are never a parameter here. Apart fro manager my collegues and my team leadee were really good.
I am glad I left such egostic manager.
One day they will realize that quality is more important than quantity.
ProsTeam lead and teamates were good and supportive.
ConsManagement sucks here..performance is not considered for desicion making
BOW FP&A Budgeting & Forecasting - Terrible Management and Terrible Place to work !!!
Management think of employees not as value added, but as costs that must be lowered and cut as much as possible.
This feedback is for the Corporate FP&A (San Ramon) department's budget & forecasting team especially. Very minimum ownership on projects in this team. When working with financial models, it is often to spend hours and days to discuss color of a cell or the width of a column, or how to name a work file. This is very inefficient use of time and waste of resources. Management does not listen to advices, it is either their way or the highway, but their way is actually very time consuming and inefficient. Managers in this team have 15, 20+ years of experience and think like the 1990s. People with this much experience could spent their time better moving projects along instead of spending days checking on cell colors and column widths everyday. Every minor work details require approvals from management. There is no learning gained from working in this group as everything resolves around documentations and format fixing. You are expected to work as told with no ideas and originality because " We Paid for You to Work". period. Do not expect to work for this team and learn, you learn NOTHING. you are a workhorse (work 9am to 8pm is normal and expected) who does not need to be appreciated for hard work and for being analytical. You will be given meaningless work and be expected to complete everything 2 hours ago. Even if you finish the project in one hour, you will spen
ProsNothing, there is really nothing
ConsA lot, see details

Ok for the short term, not ideal long term
As a younger person working in a full time job for the first time this was a fairly good experience to have, working for a company like this will look good on your CV, it's definitely worth considering if you want to work in a bank as an accountant or any other financial career.
The salary for a younger person is pretty good, if your an older person who has a family to provide for you might want to look elsewhere if your looking for a similar role.
In terms of the actual call centre itself I feel there's room for alot of improvement, the management's support for the call centre agents I felt was subpar and inconsistent.
I felt the training wasn't engaging, it was hard to absorb that much information in just a few weeks alot of what you learn is when your actually on the calls.
There were alot of cases where there's no managers on the floor for assistance, understable on the odd occasion, for example if they're in an important meeting, however this happened quite frequently.
Some of the managers are not as knowledgeable on a specific areas than others (there's 3 main areas in customer service Fixed Term, Card and IPF) Which I personally feel isn't helpful for new starters who may need more support if they don't have alot of experience doing finance in the past like I didn't.
I also felt some of the managers and lead agents appeared frustrated and impatient. when you asked for support and there feedback came off condescending and sometimes even slightly rud
ProsThe salary was decent, hours weren't too bad, alot of nice colleagues
ConsInconsistent infrastructure, support from management was average at best

I learned a lot and I was productive - not always welcome
Typical day at work. - I was hired to a data entry position in a Transfer agency environment. The system had a problem in the shareholder register. The automatic deals upload system was rejecting about 60 deals a day that had to be reencoded. I thought about a macro in vba with the corrections, editing of the text of deals and reupload.
This was done in the first 15 days of work. Then I began to know that there was a problem between the IT in Dublin and the IT of Luxembourg. They did not communicate well at that time.
So There were actually many little issues like that across the departments. I began to make macros with sendkey to control emulated AS400 ibm terminals. Encoding and uploading information.
They had problems with NAV calculation which is perhaps the worst problem in TA. If you are not aware and you have many agents you are distributing a wrong price for your fund and when people notice you must come to all agents making reversals. The workload explodes and it is not your usual working day it is an extra load alongside your normal workload. In those circumstances a properly implemented macro can save the day.
The most enjoyable part of the work was actually saving the day but later on the middle management got aggravated with me because they interpreted my initiative as a power overtake.
There were some idle computers in the bank and I put all of them to work as ghost workers encoding data. Ireland IT saw that there were more terminals workin
