It's been an excellent opportunity to work with such management, employee friendly and always think about development of employees. It has been an amazing experience to be responsible for Help Desk operation and service delivery across the globe.During tenure I attended and got certified in several training that increased perfection at my work and helped me to maintain my performance. I am lucky to have such a qualified and efficient team. Each and every person in my team takes ownership any assignment that is being given. It drives positive results and motivate the members to stay with team and organization.

learned about a lot of new products related to construction, their application, testing & inspection techniques.
Management directly not involved in any day activity.
Co-workers are good but due to hectic schedule of inspection & traveling connected over phones.
Traveling & study of new products daily is really challenging.
Most enjoyable part of the job is we meet new people daily and learn a lot of new things from them.

Proper planning with great working culture can civilize any things.
I seemed to say in one line about management is, the culture or spirit for a man in his/her age can accumulate and inspired men during time orientation.
Were not all too good but were so good because of diplomatic manner.

Was taken a charge as a site in charge for Lime Calcinations Plant and handed over the total Civil Structure before from schedule time.
The office ambience is very pleasant and refreshing. Cubicles has all the comfort and facilities. I learned how to work in a professional manner and how to build professional network. I learned multitasking and time management as the requirement of the job profile. People were very helpful and encouraging. Especially for the fresh college graduates like me, senior management was very cooperative and they made sure that we learned right .
Hardest part of the job was to manage work life balance as working hours were uncertain. Audit hours differed as per the manufacturing facility's size and capacity, situations.
Team get togethers were a fun part. Every team member treated every other member equally.
If you are a fresher & thinking to join a organisation for one or two year only for the time being..That this organisation & Gsit dept is awesome.
For If your specialized in Import, Export & Shipping or Logistics. This is not a good place to work.
Management is not bother about your growth. From 2 year after joining m still on Jr. Post, doing all the job of the sr.
There are various department in BV. Do read the HR Policies ..Read the appointment letter carefull.
The Company division outside India is awesome but in India it exactly op- positive. Goodwill doesnt matter all the time. I do not recommend anyone to join GSIT dept.

EXCELLENCT EXPERIENCE TO WORK WITH MNC COMPANY AND THEIR CODE OF ETHICS MANAGEMENT AND SUPPORT FROM SENIORS AND MANAGERS
Inspection of Welding, Offshore, Pressure Vessel and Coating
I learned how to interact with vendor and client.
How to solve critical problems with product quality as per standards and codes.
Co-operative management staff and provide various kinds of webinar related to product Quality, Safety and HSE.
Hardest part of job at terminal inspection with hot summer.
At terminal inspection to learn many things regarding welding and visual inspection of pipes, flanges, valves and insulation of piping systems.
Coming from my own opinion and experience aswel as knowledge of friends experiences within the company:
I can say that over the years, I have noticed morale amongst surveyors depreciate, whilst the indirect demand (reduction in target inspection times and encouragement to expand their original skill set) to work faster (under the guise of being more efficient) and harder has increased disproportionately with the salary and the nature of the some of the work involved.
The trust for a surveyor to work an honest working week and be trusted to be responsible and able to account for each week seems to be depreciating and is now managed (micro managed) daily in some respects.
The culture over the years seems to have swayed towards the Surveyor assisting with helping increase revenue/profitability by the increasing of production targets, whilst reducing target inspection times (double whammy), working away from home when required, assisting in finding new business, and accounting for work daily, all leaving LESS time to be productive (could say triple whammy), making it more stressful and in turn difficult to concentrate on the primary function of carrying out inspections / examinations thoroughly and safely.
They will however always stress it takes as long as it takes, but that does not make these external pressures go away.
Although they have made several attempts to re-structure remuneration packages and other incentives, they still seem to be slightly behind competitor
ProsGood stepping stone into the Industry to gain experience.
After nearly 30 years in engineering this by far is the worst company i have had the misfortune to be employed by its all about quantity not quality lets begin,
When I arrived in Manchester everything was rushed and thrown at me they were extremely pushy to get me started ( I did think at the time what had I done)
The training is too short with an emphases on getting you out there earning the company money.( one day training on certain items really)
After the in depth training you will be sent outside and within a month they will increase your inspection hours to between 32-35 hours per week, this means that you will have to inspect 32-35 hours worth of assets to meet your targets so factoring in your driving time to and between sites and unless you live right next to a factory or string of garages you will be pushing 50 hours a week ( great for family life).
They will monitor when you report so if you are lucky enough and finish early just be careful
The company car is worse than useless lowest spec and remember you will be spending hours in it
The company phone is as pathetic as the car useless out dated it looks fantastic when you are stood next to clients obtaining their numbers, I did notice at the company induction a lot of the office staff getting nice I phones which was great to see.
The planner will delight in giving you the following weeks work at the latest possible time. On Friday this basically means that you will have to call clients, finish report
The job itself is ok, albeit a little repetitive. The benefits are ok and your coworkers are usually pretty decent. The problem lies within the low base pay, wildly varying workload, and management that loves to harass and micromanage you in the lab so you can be reminded of the terrible job you’re doing and how you are not learning or working fast enough. Special projects are also assigned to you, often with little or imprecise instructions on what to do to carry them out. Then you will be blamed for not asking enough questions or just flat out not following instructions, of course of which were never given to you to begin with. Employees are targeted whenever they make a single mistake and then continuously micromanaged afterward, especially new ones. Deep investigation of the cause of a problem that occurred during sample preparation or logistics is vehemently discouraged by management, and favoritism politics are so abundant it is offensive to the senses. You will be lured in by kind treatment at first then berated and haggled for both any mistake you ever make and blamed for the mistakes of others, even when the paperwork or electronic trail clearly states the origins of any problem. You will also be expected to work on the other side almost every day, under the guise of “improving your skillset”, when it is really just to compensate for overall understaffing and high turnover rate. The turnover rate and understaffing can likely be traced back to the toxic, duplicito
ProsDecent co-workers, ok benefits
ConsLow-pay, toxic and poorly communicative management.
I was a temp at BV and I did not feel valued. I was working every day until 6 or even 7, which is two hours after the building closes. This was a problem because vital people would leave at 5pm when reports weren't completed which would cause a constant backup of reports. There were also times when there was no work to be done whatsoever, which was disconcerting. Either I was very busy or not busy at all, there was no in between. Even when there were no reports to be done I still had to try to find work to do.
I could not take part in any of the discounts or outings that the permanent employees were a part of. The permanent employees get paid more, have more benefits, and take part in social team building exercises that exclude the temps. Holiday parties also exclude temporary employees. After being there for over a year I was let go without anyone at work telling me that it was my last day. They called me at 7:30pm on Friday night and told me that my employment period had ended. People constantly disappeared or switched positions within the building. It was not exactly easy to focus on my work; the openness of the room was a constant rattle. Lab samples being moved back and forth constantly making loud noise along with everyone clacking on their keyboards and yapping on their phones. That's not even mentioning all the side conversations and quiet whispers that try to squeeze through the torrent of sound. Even when I had headphones in, with all the people con

Frequent lacks of supervision on activities by line manager; excess of delegation in an informal way so that organization chart is not adhering to the effective status, then no clear who and what.
Very good class training activities organized mostly in Venice, NE Italy or inside high tech test laboratories in Turin, NW Italy.
Quite good training on the job, but mostly depending on the trainer.
Likelihood to visit several shipyards, captains and owners and learn different environments as well as crew members of different nationality. Access to the high tech and specialized shipyards.
Likelihood to travel around Northern and Central Italy and visited plenty of new locations.
Attendance in fairs.
After implementing on-line meeting and conferences, there was still excess of meeting in person, requiring overtime and money.
Most of communications are not formal and not shared in the team building or sometimes issued very late as related to results required by clients.
Used my knowledge and competence from degree and diplomas at 80%.
No defined career path ahead. No proper implementation of KPI system by most of local managers.
Very good relationships with most of the clients.
Good relationships with most of the colleagues too.
ConsRoles stated in the hiring contract are not related to the effective activities, no clear organization chart and roles, KPI system used improperly, slow professional growth, overtime avoidable with better work of managers and more effective internal procedures, lack of formal communications
From the start of a work day till the end of work I am constantly on my feet to meet the targets of the day. There is alot of pressure on me to keep the production of this Lab on target.
I have started from the bottom and over the years have been promoted to Management, as Assistant Manager.
I have learnt Sample preparation,Lab Supervisor and have worked in Fire Assay learning every area on site. Since being Assistant Manager I have learnt admin responsibilities, ordering consumables for all departments on site, organising the shifts daily, inducting new employees and filling in where needed.
There has been six Managers here since I started in 2006. The last 3 Managers I have been Assistant Manager to. They all have their own style of Management and have relied on me alot to get a feel for the job site and the employees. We are without a Manager at the moment and I have been asked to Manage the Lab, but, without a Managers wage or priveledges, (a vehicle, managers accomadation....) this is the reason I am looking for other work.
My co-workers are a pleasure to work with, a little respect goes a long way. We have pre-shift meetings before every start of the day where workers can be involved in the process of how our day will be shaped.
The hardest part of this job in when we have break downs of equipment or electrical outages. Because we are so remote it is sometimes very hard to get parts or services for any type of breakdown we have. We are very limited in serv
Worked here for 2 years as a surveyor being told my work area would be within an hour from home.
From day one I was travelling 2/3 hours each way to get to my first job of the day, management are clueless and just look to pass the buck on any issue.
Planners act like the nice guys but as soon as the phone is down, they are working against you.
The pay for this job is a low to mid-range for a surveyor role but for the work that is expected, this is not reflected in the pay.
8 weeks 'training' at the start (this has been reduced now) was a joke. First 2 weeks were okay but after that I was at home phoning surveyors asking to tag along which led to me not having the required skill codes when I passed the 13 exams required and 2 years later I have had no further training let alone the HNC promised to in the interview. (HNC meant to start after 6 months).
Voiced my concerns on numerous occasions to my area manager but nothing ever came of them, not even a measly email.
Was offered a transfer due to a relocation but am taking a pay cut in a new job to get away and be happy.
This job will grind you down, the company will treat you like a number and not a person. I beg anyone not to join this company if you wish to be happy.
The only reason I stuck at it for 2 years was to gain some further experience befrore my relocation. Any other Tesing, Inspection and Certification company is better to work for.
Please note, the UK chief exec is a nice person, seems down
ConsClueless management, unrealistic targets, false promises, poor training, treated like a number not a person.
