An experience in itself
Having worked as an Assistant Professor in Electronics and Communication Engineering at other Engineering colleges before, let me tell you that working with a University, that too, Chandigarh University is an experience in itself. A lot of reasons go behind this. Firstly, the curriculum of Electronics and Communication Engineering department at Chandigarh University has a sense of freedom attached to it, and with proper approvals from the management, we can conduct practicals in a unique manner, giving an immersive and wholesome experience to our students. The curriculum design teams always makes sure to inculcate suggestions from the entire faculty, and as such we feel involved, and a part, of this University. Moving on to the next point, the Electronics and Communication Engineering Department at Chandigarh University hires the best faculty, all of them doctorates, and motivates, and even pushes us further to enhance our research experience while teaching also. We are time and again motivated to write research papers, apply for research projects and even apply patents. This is, in a way, enrichment of our own personal achievements. Next, the work culture here is good, giving us ample time to work and carry out our official duties, yet at the same time not feel burdened by any of it. Taking of my own department, Electronics and Communication Engineering at Chandigarh University, the HoD is extremely understandable, approachable and helpful. Any concerns, be it of teacher

neither good nor a bad place to work
It is a very good college having beautiful infrastructure and when it comes to academics they are engaged with many of the foreign Universities and with them they conduct quiz and interactive sessions so that the student can get to know about the world that what actually is going around, how is the market of different sectors, what are the requirements for various types of businesses and such types of things that are helpful for a student for future stand point and the faculty that the college is having and they have faculty from Australia,Asia, Europe to describe and bring in new environment of learning and what is their approach towards the different subjects and concepts , and university is having wide range of courses including management, engineering, hotel management, Law and many more. The management of the university is also very interactive, the Directors of different blocks conduct weekly sessions that what kind of change the students want for the study point of view, they even help students to make them aware of corporate sector . Events and fests are given importance in the university because that is the only time where anyone can show his or her talent there are various events held in a semester and the university also provides scholarship to the students and they have a separate fee structure for the students who are falling below poverty line. They do provide the books also to the students and when it comes to books they have library in every block in total 12

Productive, Relaxed and a Great Place to Work
When I joined Chandigarh University, Department of Hotel Management and Catering Technology, I knew that I'm joining an excellent community and work place. I have been working with this department for over an year. And let me tell you that the work culture and work environment is brilliant. The typical day starts with teaching and enhancing the knowledge of young students. That's the basic role of a the teacher which I adhere to. Here I have learned so much from the management and colleagues as well as every day is quite a learning experience. The hardest part of the job is to manage the teaching schedule as there are quite a lot sections and student count is pretty high. So that's a task. But the most enjoyable part is the support that I get from the management and administration which makes the job stress free. Chandigarh University, Department of HMCT blend a traditional model of hospitality education with hands-on learning, exciting internships, insightful industry visits and cutting-edge hospitality knowledge. This department aims at developing young talent for the hotel industry and allied fields. There is an ever-growing demand for hotel management graduates in catering, hospitality and tourism industry within and outside the country. All these courses open up extraordinary opportunities for those who aspire to become leaders in hospitality management. Offering a modern learning environment, the focus is to impart key competencies related to hospit

No personal life with lots of work out of your specialisations also
They will give work any time any day without thinking its Sunday or any gadgeted holiday summer break winter break .. You should not have personal life and they give only 20k to 25k to teaching faculty and 9k to 10k to non teaching as salary and incentives are like 900 , 1k after 1 year which is very worst thing for one who work day and night even they will give you task which is not even from your domain..and you have to do it.. Every department has its politics and higher mangemnt has its own politics... they donnt respect the honest workers they need those who just agree with the statement that boss is always right.. they hire or fire anyone with or without reason..you always have job insecurity food in hostel is so pathetic you cannt even imagin ... students or faculty who do hardwork of thier own and when they get some achievement they will do branding like our universities student and faculty had done this or that not having any lunch time for faculty when you have free lecture you have to do accordingly but they will give you he'll adjustments so sometimes from 9:20 to 4:20 you get only half hour free so very hard to decide when to have lunch ...and lot more buses has not exact timings sometimes it leaves from.campus at 4:45 pm,sometimes at 5:15 pm, sometimes 6:00 or more
ProsLearn various tasks
ConsSalary, long hours, No personal life, unnecessary workload, weired politics, All times Job insecurity, No lunch time

Research Intensive University
Working at CU is a Multitasking job starting from taking lectures to guiding students in their projects along with doing various academic and administrative tasks given by the department head. As a person I have learned a lot in terms of improving my soft skills, learning new Softwares and interfacing with various hardware development boards. The work culture is very dynamic as being a faculty u get to do good research, take part in various FDP's, Faculty Carnivals, Sports Meet, seminars, meeting and more..The hardest part of the job is to keep improving your skills to be at the same pace with the growing technologies and compete with others. The most enjoyable part is while doing work at CU one does not know how the time passes and working hours get over. Proud to be working here.
ProsFinancial and moral support for research work; Special TBI cell for focus on research activities, Regular visit of Patent team for patent filing without charging a single penny, Industry based certifications in workshops, seminars and FDP, Abdul Kalam Innovation challenge held to take novel idea and cash rewards, Best researcher award given on Teachers Day, Faculty carnival cultural fest having fun activities held
ConsMost Saturdays are working and senior management is very strict related to research work

educative
The opportunities presented in the company is very interesting, and I given my best to complete the task assigned using my strong technical experience and educational background l am a very competitive candidate for the job. The key strengths that I possess for success in this position include: · A good technical knowledge of petroleum engineering as well as mechanical engineering acquired through extensive study and dedication. · I strive for continued excellence. With a M.tech degree in Petroleum Engineering from Indian School Of Mines (Dhanbad) I have full understanding of petroleum engineering and a knowledge in PDMS which I acquired at Concept Consulting and Infra Pvt. Ltd.(noida), working on a pipe design engineer. I learned how to manage the task using all the available resources and meet the desired target. My co workers is a good mix of experience and youth they are all very supportive the hardest part of the job is to handle the students at times one needs to be strict and as the age difference is not too much so it becomes difficult to deal strictly. I enjoy a lot to work on projects designing equipment's for the lab getting it procured and assembled.

University with a zeal to excel in Research and Teaching
I am an Associate Professor working with Chandigarh University for over 4 years now. In my opinion the University has a lot of advantages as tabulated below for your kind perusal: 1. A typical day at University starts at 9:30am (first class) and ends at 4:30 pm. The last class ends at 4:10 pm. 2. Through my 4 years of association with this University, I have learned that as a faculty you have to be thorough in your subject and research. Working at CU you learn how to be competitive and know how to achieve success through smart working. 3. The management is very supportive and is open to your feedback and suggestions and the entire system is online which is an added advantage of CU. 4. The workplace has professionalism and the people are cooperative and about 80% of the task is accomplished through emails and online system developed for the purpose. 5. The hardest part of the job is to accomplish data maintenance online and meeting with the deadlines for a specific task assigned from the management. 6. The satisfaction in doing research and teaching the young minds in my class.

Worse academic atmosphere. They are duping students with entertainment
University as a whole is going down. They are student centric. Faculty are very less in compare to students. Most of the time university is busy in entertainment of students. Every month some film stars, singers are visiting the campus for which faculty have to monitor. Work load is around 20 for Assistant Professor with in charge of many other responsibilities. From last three years no deans and hods are stable. No sufficient books in library. They keep faculty busy in unnecessary works like shuttle service, telephone calling, admission tours etc. So far salary is concerned it comes in first week of every month. But no extra money is paid for overtime. Very less increments. University is not research oriented. They dupe admissions by showing foreign MoU which are worthless. Attitude of management is very bad. No one hears you. No proper funding for organizing the events. University not gives you any food for coordinating events.
ProsIts just near Chandigarh & Mohali, Panjabi atmosphere
ConsLong hours duty, floor duty, surveillance, shuttle duty, tele calling, going for admissions
