Overall a Good Career involving lot of passion
I have contributed more than 24 years of my career path working for three different Commercial Banks. The first being a Public Sector Bank "Central Bank of India followed by two seperate Private sector Banks "ICICI Bank" and DCB Bank Ltd. During the tenor I have worked majorly in four/five sections namely- Trade Finance Operation, Retail Branch Banking Operations, Global Trade service Unit, Buisness Banking (Account Manager- Corporate Customer) and Business Banking (Relationship Manager -SME). I have learned that Banking is all about Impeccable Customer Service and art of Reltionship Management. Interacting with Co-worker should always be in a spirit of the teamwork. Hardest part of the Job was contineous manmoth efforts in delivering correctly each time and everytime in lieu of stiff competition and sometimes Organisations Internal Politics. But the most enjoyable moment would be seeing complete satifaction on your customer's face and when customer thanks you from the bottom of his heart for your efforts which most of the time get acknowledged. About DCB: I joined the bank for one profile and left with another profile so that was dissatifying. The role was Business Banking and connected sales. My role as Relationship Manager SME was to promote Working Captial Loans, Term Loans, Busniess Expansion Loans, Trade Credits etc. Due to some legacy issues the bank has very little risk appitite. Systems that are set are not very dynamic and are still person driven than systems driven
Proswhite collared good & polished job. interaction with many so learning multiplies.
Conslot of documentation, compliances. competition has become too stiff.

Productive workplace with learning opportunities
I joined DCB Bank as a complete fresher, straight after my graduation, and I have continued to work with the Bank for more than 5 years since then. DCB Bank as an organisation, i feel, provides one with a great deal of learning opportunities. If one is keen on learning & developing ones-self in cross-functional roles, DCB Bank is the place that gives you that freedom. Besides just usual work, there are a lot of recreational activities that the Bank organizes, like sports events, quarterly, hal-yearly & annual award ceremonies etc which gives the employees an opportunity to participate and enjoy the fun@work. The hardest part of the job, which I feel, is that there is a bit of bureaucracy which,in the long run, limits the sense of innovation of a person who would actually want to create a difference in the existing work culture. The most enjoyable part of the job is that it helped me hone my existing skills and sharpen them over the years, which today makes me confident to take up any role and deliver the requirements of the role, with full confidence, sincerity & dedication.
ProsOpportunity to take up cross-functional roles
ConsLack of quantitative acknowledgement for achievements

Monotonous and unplanned management
The company provides decent leverage for freshers. However, their management style is completely unplanned and unprofessional. Their clientele is also below decent standards especially in the area which i work. Work life balance is also poor as we have to work on Satudays and Sundays especially in the second half of the month. Compensation for conveyance is also reimbursed based on the business you bring in. If you are unable to deliver the committed ouptut, your conveyance allowance is rejected. Moreover, the TAT for sanction is way more than that for disbursal, which is completely reverse of what the consumers demand. Hence, there are customer issues regularly. Also, there is no proper training for Management Trainees and hence, you face the music from your supervisors. Overall, the experience is that you learn the hard way here and the organisation is completely unprofessional. The only positive is that the learning potential is good as we have to be present for each and every aspect of loan processing. Thats the only positive here.
ProsLearning curve and exposure
ConsUnplanned management and nil work-life balance and planning

Politics and and buttering required to bosses and super bosses
For beginners its gud learning environment but if you looking growth in carrer while working at dcb bank than dont expect it at all ... will required buttering nature . Not at all supportive environment . Once you blamed by any1 you will always blamed for everything .it does not matter how hard working you are there . They will not approve your work . How much buttering you can do it matters .. they will suck you for some amount that they crediting in your account .higher management and HR's no one is supportive and on lower level there politics exist in just 1 year you will try to escape from them or else u retain their than its you badluck ..u will remain on same profile all the tym on same pacakge ... appraisals are for butterers only
ProsNo pros

supportive corporate office,prompt services.
typical day at work would be meeting the daily sales targets ,writing the DSR,Servicing the customers with their queries. I learned of how to motivate oneself, and to respect and help each other in their difficulties at work, Co-workers were co-operative ,understanding and motivators. Management was good but the things were not at place as there was luck of co-ordinating between staff for the replacements on leaves. The hardest part of the job was there was no brand visibility and the locality was not aware about the bank and its services. The most enjoyable part was that there was no room to feel for competitors as each one would do their respective job.
Prosbenefits for travelling, easy re-imburstments
Conssalary not timely paid as it was out sourced.

Fun, and productive place to work
A typical day started by following up with scheduled events or appointments with clients. This would be followed by routine check to ensure that is as per plan. People management especially in an industry that is unfamiliar to my career. The hardest part of the job was championing change within old staff for the benefit of the business owners and clients. The most enjoyable part of the job was dealing with young customers or people with disabilities.
ProsFree lunch and 1 day off during the week
Conslong daily work schedules
