Mahindra has given me an opportunity to work with the ongoing latest developments in the field of Automotive sector.
My experience with Mahindra & Mahindra as a Quality and Process Engineer has been very fruitful. It has helped me grow technically and has given me a great opportunity to showcase my skills and understand my horizons better.
Having worked as a Quality/Process engineer for the KUV 100 launch team in BIW, I tried every bit to make the most of it. It was immensely challenging to meet stringent quality targets like weld integrity, CMM PIST, Torque integrity, etc. nevertheless the support and opportunity given by the company was indispensable. I made use of Quality control tools like Control charts,Pareto diagram, Ishikawa diagram, which helped me understand Quality systems better. Implementation of Measurement system analysis and Statistical Process control was something that I found very interesting noticing which, my manager gave me a chance to lead them.
Since I also worked as a Process Engineer, typically my role consisted of installation and calibration of jigs and fixtures and line balancing in order to achieve the target of 18 jobs per hour. I was responsible for the PPAP implementation of the bodyside and Engine Compartment subassembly.
On the whole, Mahindra gave me a great platform to learn which has helped me gained competency in this field.
I was their more than six month, 15 manpower working under me. At first, when you start your job in company, everything is normal. But after 15 to 20 days, people starts behaving differently. At start they will allow you for leave as evry employee can take leave as per the rule, but after some time taking leaves becomes a crime. Your managers dont allow you for leaves at all.
I was working their as a team leader, but I will you that, after one month of work, the task assigned to you are more than your work.
If you complete the daily targets, then everything is normal. But if you fail to complete the target, the you are held responsible for whole failure.
The managers and senior managers of the company, even the plant head will tell you to do the work which is actually their job not yours.
When it comes to treating people or employess, the behavior of everybody is very bad and disrespectful. They will give you bad words even yours seniors, and they will shout. Though you have completed your job perfectly, but if their is any other problem, then you only are held responsible for that problem.
Your seniors and managers and senior managers and plant head doesnt take any responsibility of their work at all.
No matter at what post you are in the company, by my experience negativity like stress, tension, fears, anxiety and much more becomes part of your life.
ConsTo do overtime and you will be payed for doing overtime

While working at Mahindra & Mahindra ltd. I learned a lot about working in the industry. Working there helped me to get some good hands on experience and helped me develop skills like team work, leadership, taking initiative, time management and effective communication. Apart from that it also helped expand my technical knowledge on Lean manufacturing and various production processes. My manager was like a mentor who helped me a lot from my first day to grow and develop professionally. Even though the work was stressful and I was expected to put in long working hrs., I felt excited to go to work each day see my work coming to fruition. The people I worked with whether it be fellow interns, managers, supervisors or line workers were always ready to help and encouraging. I especially liked my breaks and quality circle time when I had discussions with workers about how the process could be bettered, these discussions always included off topic subjects and making jokes keeping the mood light and cheery. As I said the work was hard and demanding but I really liked working there which had a significant impact on my personal and professional development.
