HR Executive @ Reliance Retail, Cochin
Reliance Industries Ltd is an India-based company. Reliance Retail is a part of RIL. The company is India's largest private sector company on all major financial parameters.
In a retail sector Customer is the most important person for the growth of the business. But for us, the HR Team, employees are our customers and we always strive to keep them happy and give satisfactory resolutions to their queries and concerns. Apart from this day to day activity we as a team provide support to the recruitment manager for finding the right person for immediate closure of a vacant position, complete pre-joining formalities, pay-rolling, conducting training for employees development, employee administration, continuously involving in paper works related to labor regulations etc...
Being a part of the family of Reliance HR Team, i have gained knowledge in employee engagement activities, maintaining the employees MIS ,other HR related activities in SAP and extensive learning in ESI and PF related matters . Every single day is a new learning at Reliance. We get good support and advise from our seniors on any matter related to work. They are easily approachable at any time.
Even though I enjoying the work, work place and co-workers, there are some challenges. Too much work, delivering termination messages, reduction in manpower force, supporting management decisions that didn't always seem right, eliminating benefits to save costs etc...which is indeed is extremely difficult to deli
ProsEmployee friendly, Hard work appreciated, Initiatives are recognized, good working atmosphere, work life balance is very good
Widely present Retail player in India, Fun place to work with ample learning
A performance driven professional with over 13 years of experience in Marketing and Communication, Digital Marketing, Loyalty Management, Visual Merchandising, Channel Management, Private Label and Product Management across Retail, Consumer Durable & FMCG industry.
In day to day routine I mostly plan about my next campaign, coordination with Media agency, Budgeting etc.
Here my analytical skill has been improved a lot, worked on so many impacted stores where footfall was poor. After analysing, bucketing of issues then running a befitting campaign gave a good boost to stores footfall & sales.
Here management is very cooperative & give more opportunity to learn & innovate.
All my co-workers are very helpful & enjoy my job along with them.
If I talk about the hardest part of my job is coordination with other departments, sometimes there is ideology clash which affects my timeline.
The most enjoyable part of my jobs are : 1.Getting the freedom for innovate; 2.trying new kind of communication media, analysing & presenting the toughest data which denotes your stores' performance; 3.talking to my team & train them about how to fix the challenges which may appear during rolling out new campaigns.
ProsTransportation services from House to office
ConsSalary is not as per my skill level & experience
very highly pressure in job, everyday u will get to know your employment is at risk, In management there is no one to here your problem they don't even bother how you are facing problems day to day at work place, they care for result only if you are not throwing result they will raise questions on your ability not even anyone will come to ask you why.
Very bad boss/seniors persons behavior like bad and vulgar languages, slang's and very inappropriate words. If any one complains/raise your voice regarding this will be constrict by upper level seniors/persons because that one will be the relative or reference of this person.
Management is very poor in response they only focus on the process of work weather its the company loss or profit no one cares, they only follow system/process. Management is weak in handling issues likes any boss/Superior person is doing misbehave/physically indulge with juniors they remains silent and try to suppress/cover up things, don't get things to be highlighted.
Prossalary
Conswork culture, management, seniors behaviour no healthy environment
Have lot of scope working in reliance .especially in indirect tax and retail commercial department.lot of scope in marketing, and almost knowledge in all department like commercial, accounts Ar and Ap and good team support, we can know lot off sub companies in Reliance like Reliance industries and Reliance trends,Reliance footprint etch, over all its good company with beginning the carrier, but salary part it's very slow growth, apart from that it's a one off the top company in india, had scope interact with out of state issue.and they work experience and rules and regulations of different stats all that knowledge we can fail in Reliance retail limited, boss like l1 and l2 they are friendly and they don't put too much pressure at work and team meeting with different states every week end, monthly team lunch with boss, good culture celebrates all the culture in the office with joy,had cricket team playing internal cricket every year.good to work in Reliance retail.
easy proximity to roads nd rail making travel easy
Best part is every day is a new day, with new challenges which requires different strategies and planning.
Being an Architect not only allowed me to work independently but also in team helping me to learn Time management and coordination with people at work leading me to multitasking.
the hardest part is to deal with new technologies, things would ease out when I would be dealing with small detailing with draft-man , co-workers and clients.
most enjoyable part with job is to work in team and coming to a constructive decisions and seeing our creation coming alive. To see how our hard work has ultimately given fruits.
I have learned to draw clarity by sticking right questions which does help in designing a clear architectural plan for clients requirement. and team work is the best way to work as gives good results.
The company is no doubtedly good but the management of WB is so poor. They can't provide the support on difficult time and push any staff to gutter situation at that time manager push to a staff for extra time work out of his duty hours but didn't pay for that extra time.
The company gives a platform to a fresher, that is good. but at the store the others permanent staff treat them like a robot and instead of teaching them about work ,try to push them to do all of their work at a time.
ProsYou can only use the brand name while you apply to another company.
Conspoor management, worst support system, poor salary accordinjg to work, worst behavior of managers and cluster manager, no security for staff if he catch the thief, the thief considered as a customer and the staff considered as a guilty.
High Pressure,High performance work environment with lots of focus on Revenue generation

Avoid talking to people. There is a lot of groupism and politics within the management. If you are not in good terms or if you don't follow them you will be considered as a poor employee. Here store managers are been trained as the store executive. People who have joined as store manager have not been allocated personal store from last 5-6months. Its very bad working environment. No growth and lot of politics.
Working hours is 9but the very first day you are told to work for 12 hrs and also they say its necessary to work more. And its applied to everyday so company is not paying for our extra hours. Sometimes we can understand but daily is not fair for an employee.

ConsLong working hours, Politics, Bad working environment, Eeactic schedule
