I worked in United Health Group for seventeen months and overall i liked about the company is the salary they pay to Physiotherapists working as a clinical investigator, which is almost double the amount compared to working as a Physiotherapist in any corporate hospitals.
Apart from salary, the rapport between colleagues is generally good cordial. In addition, the work was quite arduous with targets to accomplish with accuracy burdening the employee. For instance, the target of claims to be processed was 16 and sometimes the target was achievable but somehow the accuracy was missed in swiftly processing the claim. During most of my work period, i maintained 100% accuracy with hardly few errors.
The work-life balance is just as typical as a common MNC company and definitely expecting a peaceful balance is a disappointment because, the work usually begins at 5:30 am and by the time i reach home in a company cab, the clock ticks 8:30 or 9:00 pm, which is additional strain due to horrible traffic conditions.
Apart from all the routine, i had plenty of moments to cherish with. For example, the celebration of birthdays in cafeteria, the relaxation chats during breakfast and lunch, the company parties, celebration of festivals and obviously my grand farewell. Working with the company, i got enlightened so much about the corporate lifestyle.
Last but not the least, the rapport between a colleague and a manager is not so cordial, free and flexible like other companies. It
My day starts with a big hello to my team and a quick chat with each individual to gauge their mood, issues, pain areas if any etc. This is followed by clearing my mailbox and planning my day based on work newly arrived and/or pending from previous day. Next is to catch a hold of a rich cup of Americano and have a quick team meeting to get up to speed with the team deliverables and associated timelines, who has what on their plate and what is the effort estimated on that. Then comes work categorization by assigning priorities and team mates based the target audience and on the team member's strengths and skills respectively. The rest of the day flies away being on top of my deliverables, uninterrupted meetings along with a daily catch up with my boss to make sure we are on the same page.
Every day is a learning experience which comes with working in a professional environment. Though we are all professionals, there is a person behind that professional with his or her own unique identity which all of us needs to admire and embrace. People spend a sizable portion of their lives at their work place and so it's important to make them feel as welcoming as possible.
The most enjoyable part of anyone's day is to get appreciated for the work we deliver on a day on day basis, maintaining the highest standards and still accomplishing the set timelines agreed upon or handed over to them. And seeing my team happy in their professional and personal life is the most enjoyable part of
ProsGood work environment, great people to work with and remuneration

7. 'Maintaining quality in everything we do'
It's very difficult to put in words about the quality of work culture at UHC. The company stands for the position it holds among Fortune Competitors. It's a school of learning and performing.
I was in charge of 40member claims adjudication team. My typical day would start with a Team meeting in the morning and discuss the process updates (if any), production targets and quality issues. Once the responsibilities are discussed, I follow up with the meeting peers and work on PI projects. We work on automation plans for most of the manual process while working with claims adjudication process for each queue. We followed Waterfall model. Here, I got an experience of working on Requirement Documents (BRD, FRD) and managing Change requests. At the end of the day, I took part in daily Global KMI calls to exchange the workload and follow up actions based on different inventory challenges.
There were challenges, but never faced much of stress due to the support and availability of most of the resources to back up the initiatives and the work. They company always maintained a positive atmosphere and always gave a scope to improve. I had to leave the job due to personal reasons, else this company would have been the perfect place to work until retirement. Not surprisingly, I have made lot of friends!
ProsPsotive Environment

Every work has challenges such as targets, deadlines, and deliverable and may other metrics with added entities such as manager and colleagues. Considering the amount of time spent of our lives at work place it becomes imperative to make the work place conducive and worthwhile. Mostly it comes with years of learning and experience, most importantly by practicing patience on how to accommodate and deal with colleagues and manager and balance work and by taking criticism to our stride.
I always initiated and also participated in fun activities on the floor and in the events organized by the company such as sports, company representation events (Marathons, Corporate competitions). Mainly being a part of CSR (Cooperate social responsibilities). This made the work place more enjoyable and a place looked forward to be at other than home. Being a cheerful person always surrounded by colleagues seeking or advice and help. So time management became more critical to accommodate many activities and responsibility bestowed

I was a single resource for the assignement alloted at the work. Work was fun and at the same time I was serious at work being interested in my work.
My typical day at work included mostly reporting, programming, working on work orders, managing release management works related to VSAM Medclm Purge. Work was fun with several colleagues and during the whole 9 hours of day we used to plan work appropriately and enjoy it. I gained great knowledge from business leads and team managers that gave be abundant confidence in going ahead in my life. Co-workerd supported me a lot in the initial stages and helped me stand alone in the tough circumstances in the job. The toughest part of job I would admit was in the initial stages, as it took some time to adjust into the IT culture post my under graduation. Definitely, job was great and now I have the capability to handle work in any kind of situations, not only related to the assignment I am allotted to but also in all other fields. I have contributed to the weekly activities and was an active member in the teams, which boosted my interactive skills with others.
