*A Typical day at work- Once you entered the office, you first quickly review yesterdays progress followed by a short duration meeting with different contractors/service providers for today's work planning & safety hazards & risk mitigation. Afterwards, a quick visit to site for field activities, work quality & safety review, followed by hands on with typical project work in coordination with technology providers.
I evening small talk about next days/ weeks planning. Also, active participation in weekly progress reports/meeting & planning with higher levels & lower levels together & separately.

Each day, during the early hours speaking to the seniors, finding out – proactively – what their priorities, meeting with team for half hour ( War Room Meet ) to communicate the management's needs. Rest of the day goes in delivering the product(s), updating the status with the seniors, answering emails. Taking 2 hour plant round which includes safety, environment & quality of product.
My current job is an excellent learning opportunity and I developed my skills and experience in numerous different ways. It gave me the opportunity to undertake additional training so as to be able to work effectively.Had been sent to visit different smelters across the globe to understand & learn the practices, process being followed.When my employer introduced a new Safety management system which used Access they gave me the opportunity to undertake additional training so as to be able to work effectively with this.
A typical day at work for me is to start at 7:30 in the morning. I find out from shiftboss what work is required for the day. Prepare plans for the day then head underground to complete tasks. These tasks would be to carry out hand held laser scanning of the underground mining areas for production of plans, and for planning purposes. Other underground tasks include setting out for mining teams. Remote laser scanning of voids are also carried out.
3d models are produced of the mine and plans are produced from these models.
On a monthly basis I produce the monthly production report.
I have learned a lot from a talented mine technical team of engineers. I have gained great experience with regard to laser scanning, 3d modelling and operation of total stations.
