Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and result-oriented Quality Head to lead and manage all quality-related functions across the manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for defining quality strategy, ensuring compliance with national and international standards, driving continuous improvement, and embedding a strong quality culture across the organization.
This role requires deep hands-on expertise in Quality Assurance (QA), Quality Control (QC), process audits, customer quality, supplier quality, and certifications, with the ability to work closely with production, engineering, supply chain, and leadership teams.
Key ResponsibilitiesQuality Leadership & Strategy
- Define, implement, and drive the overall quality strategy aligned with business goals
- Lead the Quality Assurance and Quality Control teams across plants/projects
- Establish and monitor quality KPIs, dashboards, and review mechanisms
- Promote a strong quality-first culture across the organization
Standards, Certifications & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, IATF 16949 (if applicable), AS9100 (if applicable) and other relevant standards
- Lead internal, external, customer, and certification audits
- Own documentation for QMS, SOPs, work instructions, control plans, and manuals
- Ensure statutory, regulatory, and customer-specific quality compliance
Manufacturing & Process Quality
- Drive process capability improvement, defect reduction, and yield enhancement
- Implement and monitor APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA, Control Plans (as applicable)
- Lead root cause analysis (RCA) using tools such as 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, etc.
- Reduce internal rejections, rework, scrap, and customer complaints
Customer & Supplier Quality
- Act as the key quality interface with customers for audits, complaints, and quality performance reviews
- Drive effective customer complaint resolution and corrective/preventive actions
- Develop and manage Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA) including supplier audits, ratings, and development
- Ensure incoming, in-process, and final inspection standards are met
Continuous Improvement & Systems
- Drive Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, Poka-Yoke, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Lead quality-related cost reduction and process optimization projects
- Ensure robust traceability, calibration, and measurement systems
- Use data-driven approaches for decision-making and performance improvement
Team Management & Development
- Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing quality team
- Conduct training on quality tools, standards, and best practices
- Ensure succession planning and capability development within the quality function
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong expertise in manufacturing quality systems and standards
- Hands-on experience with ISO / IATF / customer audits
- Deep knowledge of QA/QC processes, inspection methods, and metrology
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills
- Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams and senior management
Preferred Skills (Added Advantage)
- Six Sigma Green Belt / Black Belt certification
- Exposure to automotive, heavy engineering, precision manufacturing, or process industries
- Experience in multi-plant or high-volume manufacturing environments
- ERP / MES / Quality Management software exposure
Pay: ₹45,000.00 - ₹1,782,438.79 per month
