Job Title: Computer Operator / Cashier
We are seeking a friendly and efficient cashier to join our restaurant team. As a Cashier, you will be responsible for processing customer orders accurately and efficiently, handling payments, and providing excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Customer Service: Greet customers warmly and assist them with their orders. Provide helpful and courteous service to ensure a positive dining experience.
2. Order Processing: Accurately input customer orders into the POS (Point of Sale) system. Ensure that orders are entered correctly and modifications are accurately noted.
3. Payment Handling: Process cash, credit/debit cards, and digital payments accurately. Calculate and provide correct change to customers. Handle refunds and exchanges as needed.
4. Menu Knowledge: Familiarize yourself with the restaurant menu to answer customer questions about ingredients, allergens, and available options.
5. Maintaining cleanliness cards: Keep the cashier station clean and organized. Ensure that menus, promotional materials, and payment terminals are well-maintained.
6. Basic Computer Skills: Proficiently operate the POS system and other basic computer programs necessary for cashier duties. This includes inputting orders, processing payments, and generating receipts.
7. Team Collaboration: Collaborate with kitchen staff and servers to ensure orders are processed accurately and delivered promptly to customers.
8. Problem-Solving: Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and concerns professionally and escalate issues to management when necessary.
Requirements:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Basic math skills for processing payments and calculating change.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in order processing.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Basic computer skills, including familiarity with POS systems and the Microsoft Office suite.
- Previous experience in customer service or cashier roles is preferred but not required.
Working Conditions:
This position requires standing for extended periods and occasional lifting of light to moderate items.
