Contract Negotiator - Post Execution Support
This role has been designed as ‘Hybrid’ with an expectation that you will work on average 2-3 days per week from an HPE office.

Within HPE, our Operations, Legal and Admin teams work across the business, providing visible accountability and measurable outcomes. We are a dedicated team of lawyers and legal personnel based in the ‘Agility Centre’, that is currently being setup in Bangalore (India) that will support the OLAA globally. The Agility Centre is part of the OCOO & wider OLAA and provide assistance to OLAA and HPE’s customer-facing businesses in negotiating and advising on diverse matters in a client facing role.
The Agility Centre is expected to provide high-quality, practical, commercially-focused, cost effective and legal advice and support services (in accordance with HPE ethical standards and policies).
This role would be as part of a team for the Agility Centre in India. The environment is fast-paced, agile and the successful candidate will be working closely with senior management, providing both strategic and transactional support to HPE globally. Job Family Definition
Manages the contract management process for internal clients comprising of HPE account teams of business and delivery personnel by working with them to set up contract management processes and provide ongoing contract lifecycle management support. This is inclusive of post contract signature drafting and/or negotiating appropriate contractual language to reflect the business interests and policies of the company for contractual requests. Interfaces as required for contract management activities with customers and members of the Legal, financial/revenue recognition, business unit, sales, and other stakeholder teams to provide the requisite support. Analyzes business, financial, and legal risks and develops and communicates creative solutions and mitigation strategies to provide ongoing contract management support. Participates in compliance activities as and when required from stakeholder teams.

Responsibilities

Setting up contract management processes for internal HPE account teams.

Manages responses to standard and non-standard contractual requests, evaluating alternative agreements and assessing key risks; works in concert with senior team members and management in drafting responses and negotiating (post contract signing) with customers as and when required.

Interfaces as required for contract management activities with customers and members of the Legal, financial/revenue recognition, business unit, sales, and other stakeholder teams

Aligns activities and key initiatives with overall priorities of the company's legal function.

Builds strong relationships and networks with the company's legal colleagues, business owners, sales personnel, support functions, as well as with customers to facilitate effective escalations and efficient deal closures.

Acts as a key resource to assigned business teams.
What you need to bring:
Education And Experience Required

First Level University degree required.
-
Typically 5-6 years of customer facing contract management experience or alternately contracts, negotiation, or equivalent experience; or Advanced university degree, (e.g. JD/Law Degree) with 2-5 years relevant experience.
Knowledge And Skills

Contract lifecycle management and contract management processes.

Extensive knowledge of key laws, policies, processes, and practices applicable to closing non-standard contracts.

Developed understanding of company products, service offerings, and capabilities.

Extensive knowledge of key business and contractual risks.

Capable of presenting or escalating issues effectively to local sales and business management.

Strong communication and soft skills.

Independently leads contract management support and/or setting up contract management processes on 1 or more HPE business accounts within a country or geography.
