What does a Product Compliance Executive (Household Appliances) Do?
You will be responsible for managing product compliance, certification, and regulatory reporting across global markets, including the UK, EU, US, CA, UAE and KSA. This role ensures that all products meet local and international regulatory requirements, maintain valid certifications, and comply with platform and regional quality standards. The role involves working closely with suppliers, testing laboratories, and internal teams to ensure full adherence to market regulations, as well as supporting quality investigations and documentation accuracy across all product categories. This position requires strong attention to detail, technical understanding, and excellent communication skills to coordinate with cross-border teams and regulatory authorities.
Product Categories: Consumer Goods, including Household Electrical Appliances, Hardgoods and Softgoods.
Role & Responsibilities
Product Compliance & Certification Management
- Support product and supplier compliance activities throughout the product lifecycle, including certification, testing, documentation, and renewal processes.
- Maintain and organise Product Technical Files (PTFs) and supplier compliance documentation to ensure records are accurate and up to date.
- Coordinate with suppliers, laboratories, and certification bodies to support product approvals and compliance requirements.
Regulatory & Quality Support
- Monitor and support compliance with international regulations and standards such as CE, UKCA, RoHS, and FDA.
- Assist in reviewing product complaints, returns, and quality issues, supporting corrective actions and continuous improvement activities.
- Work closely with Product Development, Purchasing, Quality, and Customer Care teams to support product compliance throughout the product lifecycle.
- Support research into Indian regulatory requirements and product compliance standards, helping the business assess market entry requirements, certification pathways, labelling obligations, and compliance needs.
Quality Support & Investigation
- Analyse product complaints, returns, and performance data to identify trends, recurring issues, and potential risks.
- Provide structured quality and compliance insights to support Customer Care and Sales teams in resolving product quality or performance queries and escalations, ensuring responses address root causes and support effective resolution.
- Collaborate with Product Development, Purchasing, and Quality teams to feedback investigation findings and quality insights, supporting corrective actions and continuous improvement.
Artwork Review & Management
- Support the review of packaging, labelling, and artwork to ensure required regulatory information and certification markings are accurate and up to date.
- Assist in coordinating artwork or labelling updates with internal teams and suppliers when required.
Refurbishment Instructions
- Create, review, and maintain refurbishment instructions across the product range, ensuring processes meet safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
- Support monitoring of refurbished product performance and help identify opportunities for process improvements.
- Update refurbishment SOPs, guidance, and documentation based on performance data and operational feedback.
Customer Care Support
- Provide day-to-day compliance and technical support to Customer Care and internal teams when required.
- Assist in reviewing escalated product issues and help maintain accurate product knowledge documentation.
Skills & Experience Required
- A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Quality Management, or a related technical discipline is advantageous.
- 1–3 years’ experience in compliance, quality assurance, regulatory affairs, testing, or a related field is preferred. Fresh graduates with relevant internships may also be considered.
- Familiarity with international standards such as CE, UKCA, RoHS, and FDA regulations is advantageous.
- Good proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets for data organisation and analysis.
- Basic understanding of technical product specifications and compliance documentation.
- Strong attention to detail, organisation, and willingness to learn.
- Experience coordinating with suppliers, manufacturers, testing laboratories, or certification bodies is an advantage.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Comfortable communicating with suppliers and cross-functional teams in an international business environment
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise workloads, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional, reliable, and able to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
