Role Overview
The Junior Localization Engineer provides the technical foundation for the translation production cycle, ensuring smooth file processing and supporting linguists with the right environment.
Core Responsibilities
CAT Tool Support & File Preparation
- Prepare files using CAT tools (Trados, Phrase, memoQ)
- Perform QA checks for errors & inconsistencies
- Assist in handling formats like HTML, XML, Office
Technical Troubleshooting & Support
- Support UI/UX testing (text overflow, alignment issues)
- Troubleshoot corrupted bilingual files
- Assist in pseudo-localization testing
Maintenance & Asset Management
- Maintain TMs and Termbases
- Re-integrate translated content into original formats
Process Assistance
- Monitor workflows and report issues
- Maintain documentation for linguists
Technical Qualifications
- 1–3 years in localization or relevant field
- Graduate / Engineering in IT / CS / Linguistics
Skills
- Knowledge of CAT tools (Trados, Phrase, memoQ)
- Understanding of localization workflows
- Basics of HTML/XML & file formats (XLIFF, JSON, .properties)
Good to Have
- Basic RegEx knowledge
- Interest in automation/scripting
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: ₹350,000.00 - ₹400,000.00 per year
