Trek Bicycle’s marketing manager will focus on building Trek & Bontrager to be premium lifestyle brands within the Indian market. Focus on increasing brand awareness & perception among consumers and retailers, make TREK the most recognizable, desirable and available premium cycling brand in India.
This position serves as the lead marketing role for the India subsidiary. Key areas of responsibility include the development of annual marketing programs for TREK India, their execution and planning & control of marketing budgets.
The position will work closely with the TREK India Country Manager as well as global Marketing team to establish the overall marketing, advertising and communications direction for the short and long term. This position will manage the above and all facets of marketing such as market research, promotional activities, advertising, online presence, social media, digital, website management, dealer and customer communications, local show/exhibition activities, dealer events as well as PR. The Marketing Manager will work closely with the Sales Manager to plan and execute lead generation activities / events. Key Results Areas Marketing Management
Create detailed plans, budgets, and timelines for individual programs and promotions during the execution stage.
Lead efforts to evaluate the quality and service levels of agencies and support services recommending changes and/or improvement areas.
Inform dealers and other parties of their roles and requirements with these programs/promotions and establish their involvement before proceeding where necessary.
Provide regular and timely reports on programs and spending to the Country Manager and local management team as appropriate. Marketing Programs & Events
Position will develop annual marketing programs including local and national advertising campaigns and promotional activities
Seek input and approval from dealers, partners, and TREK global marketing team. This includes formulating budgets and timetables.
Position will also focus on lead generation activities and manage CRM via TREK recommended global tools.
Includes the use of website and social media to generate customer engagement and response to initiatives, including the use of social networks.
Plan and execute events to enable effective customer engagement. This includes experiential events, bicycle shows, exhibitions, roadshows and others.
Marketing Communication / PR
Public relations strategy development is also a crucial part of this role, managing media relations and the effective utilization of company assets and products to maximize visibility of both brands.
The position will work closely with the Country Manager of TREK India to manage local communications while working with the local agencies on creating regular plans and delivering messages with appropriate content.
Manage press releases and critical communications. With the marketing functions, develop and execute professional product launches and other public relations campaigns.
The position will also assist with the development of internet advertising and other social media, working with agencies and TREK global marketing team to affirm content, structure, and direction. Basic Qualifications Required:
Enthusiastic to work in a start-up environment
6-8 years of marketing experience in the cycling / outdoors/ sporting goods / power-sports industry or related field
Good understanding of the marketing discipline including focused targeting, brand promotion, experiential events planning and execution, lead generation, website management, PR, digital marketing and social media
Highly motivated self-starter who takes initiative and works effectively with minimal supervision
Results-driven achiever with exemplary planning and organizational skills and a passion for details.
Strong aptitude for analysis.
Ability to work effectively across all departments.
Basic computer skills proficient in Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, internet navigation and reporting
Excellent communication skills, must have strong decision-making skills and the ability to influence to achieve results
