We are looking for a compassionate, detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our front desk team. As the first point of contact for our patients and their families, you will play a vital role in creating a welcoming, stressful-free environment and ensuring the efficient flow of our daily operations.
Job Summary: The Medical Receptionist is responsible for greeting patients, managing the patient check-in/check-out process, answering multi-line phone systems, verifying insurance, and collecting co-pays. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills and the ability to maintain composure in a fast-paced healthcare setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Check-In/Check-Out: Warmly greet patients, verify identity, collect and update demographic and insurance information, and obtain necessary signatures on forms.
- Appointment Scheduling: Manage the electronic scheduling system to book, reschedule, or cancel patient appointments efficiently.
- Phone Management: Answer incoming calls promptly and professionally; screen and route calls to appropriate medical staff or triage nurses.
- Insurance Verification: Verify insurance eligibility and benefits online or via phone; explain copays and deductibles to patients.
- Payment Collection: Collect and process patient copayments, deductibles, and outstanding balances, issuing receipts accordingly.
- Medical Records & Compliance: Ensure all patient data is handled confidentially and securely in compliance with HIPAA guidelines. Scan and file medical documents into the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience: 1+ years of experience as a medical receptionist, clinic front desk agent, or in a healthcare administrative role is highly preferred.
- EHR/EMR Knowledge: Experience with electronic health record systems.
- Medical Terminology: Basic understanding of medical terminology and insurance processes (copays, deductibles, prior authorizations).
- Soft Skills: Exceptional empathy, active listening, and customer service skills. Ability to handle sensitive situations with discretion.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
Pay: ₹12,228.70 - ₹25,514.57 per month
