Overall purpose of role
Responsible for the overall leadership and delivery of large projects / programmes requiring significant effort in business and technology processes and systems resulting in transformational change. Overall accountability and end-to-end delivery management for a set of related initiatives as defined by our business and portfolio framework.

Key Accountabilities
o Accountable for and the advanced knowledge of: project delivery activities aligning to the business case.

o Accountable for and advanced knowledge of: scope, schedule and cost constraints inherent within the retail banking change environment at the programme / large project level and how they intersect with key enablers required for successful delivery (integration management, scope management, time management, cost management, quality management, HR management, communications management, risk management and procurement management).

o Accountable for and advanced knowledge on programme planning, including the progressive elaboration of scope into detailed work packages underpinning a critical path at the programme and large project level.

o Accountable for and advanced knowledge of: the creation, management, and execution of a risk management framework including risk trigger/identification, risk assessment, risk composite indexing, risk control, and risk mitigation.

o Accountable for and advanced knowledge of: the creation and execution of a programme / large project control framework encompassing resource management, financial control management and governance/compliance management.

o Overall accountability for the delivery of an end-to-end business and technology solution supported by the supply chain (internal and external) across multiple processes, systems and infrastructure.

o Leads direct reports (Senior Project Managers) deputizing for the Programme Director as required. Acts as a role model in terms of behavior and commitment to collaboration across the change delivery organization

o Lead and champion key activities to enhance the wider Change Delivery team culture such as but not limited to: Citizenship, Knowledge, Process & Tools, Resource Assignment Management, Recruitment & On boarding, Professional Development, Culture, and Unified PM.

o Be a key influencer in ensuring Change Delivery projects leverage the Citizenship Lens to 'do the right thing' for customers and, wherever appropriate, support the corporate ethos of being a force for good in the community.

o Lead the strategic development and growth of the IIT paperless strategy in line with defined and prioritized business plans

o Develop, implement and maintain the IIT operational and technical strategies, plans and models and drive end to end processes to ensure optimally effective and efficient delivery.

o Develop and present communications that clearly articulate the IIT Paperless strategy and vision to drive informed decisions for a diverse stakeholder community

o Gather business intelligence and benchmarking analysis and use those findings to inform, develop and continually refine IIT Paperless vision and roadmap, staying abreast of industry best practice in vendor management and paperless strategies

o Lead and drive the IIT Paperless roadmap in close collaboration with the business teams & Councils

o Develop the processes that complement the deliverables of operational and business team. Gather requirements for the roadmap to introduce in future enhancements and innovations

o Establish and communicate a clear line of sight in the delivery of the Paperless Vision and Roadmap

o Deliver on cost targets for the roadmap e.g. onshore/offshore mix.

o Strive to improve and act as an accountable party for maintaining the momentum of delivery for the Paperless roadmap, working closely with the IIT wider team to understand, resolve and prevent incidents and problems.

Successful senior stakeholder and supplier management – internal and external, and across Group/SBU boundaries

Graduate caliber with significant commercial management experience across a number of business disciplines
Industry expertise in Change Management to add value to business requirements through expert advice and support
Work closely with Barclays UK Business Areas & Councils to gain an understanding of requirements, present and showcase the very latest Paperless capability and provide specialist and bespoke advice, analysis and hands on support/training on all aspects of Paperless strategy, direction & development.
Deliver innovative and value-adding solutions with a view to evolving dramatically the Paperless agenda within Barclays UK as a whole, working in partnership with business areas and councils
Lead the debate across Barclays UK on innovations in the paperless agenda and influence the strategic direction of this area
Build, lead and motivate the team to high performance standards and inspire them to meet stretch targets through support coaching and their own personal drive and development
Develop and implement best in class practices and drive the team towards the standards expected, communicating with passion and enthusiasm and embracing change as a way of working whilst coaching others to embrace change as well.

Person Specification
Deep knowledge of principles, practices and theories in own professional discipline. May have knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Outstanding record of project management success, both in results achieved and in use of professional methodology.
