Job Summary
The Assembly Technician – Electronics is responsible for assembling, wiring, testing, and inspecting electronic components and products as per drawings, work instructions, and quality standards. The role requires attention to detail, basic electronics knowledge, and adherence to safety and production guidelines.
Key Responsibilities :
- Assemble electronic components, PCBs, wiring harnesses, and sub-assemblies as per BOM and drawings
- Perform soldering (through-hole / basic SMD) and crimping operations
- Read and understand circuit diagrams, wiring diagrams, and assembly drawings
- Conduct basic functional testing and visual inspection of assembled units
- Identify and report assembly defects, component issues, or process deviations
- Ensure compliance with quality standards, ESD practices, and safety procedures
- Maintain production records, checklists, and daily output reports
- Support rework, repair, and troubleshooting activities when required
- Maintain tools, jigs, fixtures, and workstations in good condition
- Coordinate with supervisors, quality, and engineering teams for smooth production
Required Skills & Competencies :
- Basic knowledge of electronics components (resistors, capacitors, ICs, connectors, etc.)
- Hands-on experience in soldering and wiring
- Ability to use basic testing instruments (multimeter, continuity tester, etc.)
- Understanding of ESD safety and manufacturing discipline
- Good hand–eye coordination and attention to detail
- Ability to work in shifts and meet production targets
Educational Qualification :
- ITI / Diploma in Electronics, Electrical, ECE, or equivalent
- Certification in electronics assembly or soldering is an added advantage
Preferred Experience :
- Experience in electronics manufacturing / PCB assembly / control panel assembly
- Familiarity with ISO / quality-controlled manufacturing environments
