Desktop Support Engineer

We are looking for a skilled and proactive Desktop Support Engineer to provide technical
support for end-user systems, desktops, laptops, operating systems, applications, and basic
network infrastructure. The candidate should have hands-on experience in Microsoft
Windows and Ubuntu/Linux desktop support, troubleshooting hardware/software issues,
endpoint security management, and supporting users remotely as well as on-site.
The ideal candidate should possess strong troubleshooting skills, customer service orientation,
and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced IT environment.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Desktop & Laptop Support
Installation, configuration, and maintenance of desktops, laptops, and peripherals.
Prepare and deploy new systems as per organizational standards.
Troubleshoot hardware and software issues for Windows and Ubuntu/Linux systems.
Diagnose and resolve OS boot, performance, driver, and application-related issues.
Perform system upgrades, patching, and preventive maintenance.
Operating System Management
Install, configure, and support:
o Microsoft Windows 11
o Ubuntu Desktop/Linux systems
Manage user profiles, permissions, printers, and desktop policies.
Support Microsoft Office and common business applications.
Remote & On-Site Support
Provide technical support to users via:
o Remote support tools
o Phone/email/chat
o Physical on-site visits
Resolve incidents and service requests within SLA timelines.
Coordinate with vendors and internal IT teams for issue resolution.
Endpoint Security & IT Compliance
Manage and troubleshoot endpoint security solutions.
Monitor antivirus/EDR alerts and ensure endpoint compliance.
Ensure systems are updated with latest patches and security configurations.
Assist with asset inventory and IT audit activities.
Network & Connectivity Support
Basic troubleshooting of:
o LAN/WAN connectivity
o Wi-Fi issues
o VPN access
o DNS/DHCP/IP configuration
Understand basic switching and network fundamentals.
User Support & Documentation
Support end-users with IT-related queries and troubleshooting.
Maintain proper documentation of incidents, configurations, and resolutions.
Create SOPs and knowledge base articles where required.
Provide user awareness and basic IT guidance.

Educational Qualification
Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field

Ability to support multiple clients/users efficiently
Nice to Have
Basic scripting knowledge (PowerShell/Bash)
Experience with asset management tools
Understanding of cloud-based endpoint management
Exposure to backup and recovery processes
Experience in enterprise IT environment.
