Your Role and Responsibilities

The cloud is not just about new apps or existing ones, on-prem or off-prem, IaaS or
PaaS. It's about bringing all of this together to move cloud into the core business of
modern enterprise. IBM Cloud is a platform built to help companies drive pervasive
transformation. We’re looking for a candidate with a strong technical background and
the writing background to deliver a high-quality content experience.
As a content writer, you will work alongside your team documenting new features for
existing services, improving existing documentation, and managing feedback loops with
customers. As an IBM Cloud content writer, you own your content and are responsible for delivering documentation that helps our customers successfully implement IBM Cloud services. You will collaborate with designers, SMEs, and product managers to understand our customers’ needs and work closely with our software engineers to understand the services. You will also work with other content designers and content strategists to improve your writing and grow professionally.
Job Responsibilities -
Deliver accurate customer-facing content on time and with high quality. This might include embedded assistance, documentation, blog posts, videos, tutorials, or API/SDK/CLI/Terraform reference docs.

Work closely with development, design, marketing and product management supporting the design and delivery of new features.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise

Excellent writing skills; even stronger research skills. Candidates for this position must be able to synthesize information from a multitude of resources and pull all relevant information together into a comprehensive deliverable.

Knowledge of writing embedded user assistance

Knowledge of markup languages, such as DITA or XML, or in Markdown
-
Knowledge of creating topic-based information that meets audience

Knowledge of Agile or continuous delivery development environment

Knowledge of version control or CMS systems, or Git

Ability to work independently, while maintaining an extremely strong sense of

responsibility and commitment to teamwork

Basic programming experience in any of the following languages: Java, Ruby,

PHP, Python, Swift, Go or Node

Experience creating conversational style writing

Knowledge of Markdown, HTML 5

Knowledge of GitHub

Experience documenting APIs, SDKs, CLIs
