We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Legal and Compliance Officer to join our team in
Bangalore. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in corporate law and compliance
within the technology or software industry. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent
communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide legal support and guidance on a wide range of corporate matters, including mergers
and acquisitions, contract negotiations, and corporate governance.
Draft, review, and negotiate various contracts, including software licensing agreements,
partnership agreements, and confidentiality agreements.
Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, including data privacy laws (e.g.,
GDPR, CCPA) and industry-specific regulations.
Manage intellectual property matters, including trademarks, patents, and copyrights.
Oversee and manage company policies related to corporate compliance, ethics, and risk
management.
Conduct legal research and provide updates on new laws, regulations, and industry trends.
Collaborate with various departments (e.g., R&D, Marketing, Sales) to provide legal advice
and support.
Handle employment law matters, including drafting employment contracts and handling
disputes.
Manage external legal counsel and liaise with regulatory authorities as needed.
Develop and implement compliance training programs for employees.
Qualifications:
Juris Doctor (JD) degree or equivalent from a recognized institution.
Admission to the bar in the relevant jurisdiction.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate law and compliance, preferably in the
technology or software industry.
Strong knowledge of intellectual property law, data privacy laws, and software licensing.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Strong communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
High level of integrity and professional ethics.
Relevant certifications (e.g., CIPP, CISSP) are a plus.
