Position: Sampling Pattern Maker (Manual)

Job Summary
The Sampling Pattern Maker is responsible for creating accurate manual patterns for new developments, samples, and production styles based on buyer specifications, measurements, sketches, and reference garments. The role ensures proper fit, construction feasibility, and pattern accuracy before bulk production.
Key ResponsibilitiesPattern Development
- Create manual patterns for garments based on buyer specifications, tech packs, sketches, and sample garments.
- Develop first patterns, counter samples, fit samples, and pre-production samples.
- Prepare grading specifications when required.
- Ensure pattern measurements match approved size charts.
Sample Coordination
- Work closely with merchandisers, designers, cutting, and sampling teams.
- Provide pattern corrections based on fit comments and buyer feedback.
- Support sample development within required timelines.
- Maintain records of all approved patterns and revisions.
Fit & Quality Control
- Analyze garment fitting issues and make necessary pattern adjustments.
- Ensure patterns are production-friendly and minimize fabric wastage.
- Verify seam allowances, notches, grain lines, and construction details.
- Participate in fit sessions and implement approved changes.
Documentation
- Maintain pattern files and pattern history records.
- Label and store patterns properly for future reference.
- Prepare measurement charts and pattern specifications.
Continuous Improvement
- Suggest improvements in garment construction and pattern efficiency.
- Support cost reduction through fabric utilization and pattern optimization.
Required Qualifications
- ITI / Diploma in Garment Technology, Fashion Designing, or related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Manual Pattern Maker in garment or textile manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of garment construction and sewing techniques.
- Ability to create patterns manually using pattern-making tools.
- Understanding of size charts, grading, and fitting requirements.
