Key Responsibilities1. Itinerary Design & Curation
- Kolkata Hub: Crafting city experiences including heritage walks (North Kolkata), colonial-era tours, food trails, and special festive itineraries (such as Durga Puja packages).
- Shantiniketan Circuit: Curating cultural weekend getaways focusing on Rabindranath Tagore’s Visva-Bharati University, local Baul music experiences, the Saturday Khowai Sonajhuri Haat (handicraft market), and seasonal festivals like Poush Mela or Basanta Utsav.
- Sundarbans Wilderness: Designing eco-tourism and wildlife packages. This involves coordinating launch/boat safaris, eco-stay resorts, honey-collector village interactions, and bird-watching/tiger-spotting itineraries.
2. Operations & Vendor Management
- Logistics Coordination: Booking local transportation, including yellow taxis or private cabs in Kolkata, trains (like the Shantiniketan Express) or road transport to Bolpur, and motorboats/launches necessary for navigating the Sundarbans.
- Liaison with Accommodations: Maintaining strong relationships with boutique properties in Kolkata, heritage stays/resorts in Shantiniketan, and eco-lodges or houseboats in the Sundarbans.
- Regulatory Compliance: Securing mandatory forest department permits, route permissions, and local tour guides for entry into the Sundarban Tiger Reserve.
3. Sales & Customer Support
- Consultation & Conversion: Handling inbound inquiries (phone, email, walk-ins) and converting leads into confirmed bookings by cross-selling regional packages.
- On-Trip Assistance: Providing 24/7 remote coordination to handle unexpected disruptions (e.g., train delays to Bolpur or weather/tide changes in the Sundarbans delta).
Required Skills & QualificationsDomain Knowledge
- Hyper-Local Expertise: Deep knowledge of West Bengal's geography, cultural nuances, seasonal constraints (e.g., Sundarbans is best visited between October and March; avoid monsoon months), and festival calendars.
- Sustainable Tourism Awareness: Understanding the fragile ecosystem of the Sundarbans and promoting responsible, plastic-free travel habits to clients.
Soft Skills & Technical Requirements
- Languages: english fluency is mandaory
- Tech-Savviness: Proficiency in travel CRM software
- Experience: Typically requires 4-5 years of experience in regional or inbound domestic tour operations within West Bengal.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
