- Assisting in Audits: Supporting senior auditors in conducting internal, statutory, and tax audits for clients, including fieldwork, vouching, and verification of financial statements.
- Preparation of Audit Reports: Assisting in drafting audit reports, documenting findings, and suggesting improvements or corrections.
- Compliance Checks: Ensuring that financial practices comply with statutory requirements and accounting standards.
2. Accounting
- Bookkeeping: Assisting in maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records, including ledgers, journals, and other accounting records.
- Financial Statement Preparation: Helping in the preparation of financial statements like balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Reconciliation: Performing bank and other reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of accounts.
3. Taxation
- Tax Return Preparation: Assisting in the preparation and filing of tax returns for individuals, partnerships, and companies.
- Tax Audits: Supporting in conducting tax audits and ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations.
- Tax Planning: Helping in tax planning activities to minimize tax liabilities while ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
4. Compliance and Regulatory Filings
- Filing of Returns: Assisting in the filing of various statutory returns such as Goods and Services Tax (GST) returns, TDS (Tax Deducted at Source) returns, and other regulatory filings.
- Adhering to Deadlines: Ensuring that all filings are completed within the stipulated deadlines to avoid penalties.
5. Financial Analysis and Reporting
- Data Analysis: Analysing financial data to assist in decision-making processes, including ratio analysis, variance analysis, and trend analysis.
- Management Reporting: Assisting in the preparation of management reports and presentations that provide insights into financial performance.
6. Internal Control and Risk Management
- Internal Controls Review: Assisting in the evaluation of internal controls and suggesting improvements to mitigate risks.
- Process Documentation: Helping document business processes and workflows to enhance internal controls and operational efficiency.
7. Client Interaction
- Client Communication: Interacting with clients under the supervision of senior CAs to gather necessary information, clarify queries, and provide updates on audit or accounting work.
- Client Relationship Management: Building professional relationships with clients, ensuring a smooth flow of information and maintaining client confidentiality.
8. Learning and Development
- Technical Skills Enhancement: Continuously learning about new accounting standards, tax laws, and regulations to stay updated and improve technical knowledge.
- Soft Skills Development: Enhancing communication, teamwork, and time management skills through day-to-day interactions and work experiences.
9. Project Support
- Ad-hoc Projects: Assisting in various ad-hoc projects, such as due diligence, financial restructuring, or business valuations, depending on the firm’s engagements.
- Research and Analysis: Conducting research on various accounting, taxation, or financial topics as needed by the firm.
- 10. Documentation and Filing
- Maintaining Records: Organizing and maintaining physical and digital records of financial transactions, audit files, and client communications.
