Job Summary: The Superintendent of the Dharmanagar Unit will play a pivotal role in managing the day-to-day operations of the hospital while developing a downstream team capable of running the business in autopilot mode. The ideal candidate will possess a strategic mindset, strong leadership abilities, and a proven track record in healthcare management. This role involves not only overseeing the unit’s operations but also driving its growth, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and positioning it for regional expansion. The Hospital Superintendent is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the hospital in autopilot, ensuring that all aspects of healthcare delivery are efficient, effective, and aligned with regulatory standards and organizational goals. This role requires strong leadership, management skills, and a deep understanding of healthcare systems and practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administrative Oversight, Leadership & Management and operational excellence:
- Oversee, direct the daily operations (including departments, staff, and resources.) of the Dharmanagar unit, ensuring high standards of patient care and operational efficiency.
- Lead and develop a downstream team, creating a robust organizational structure that allows the hospital to operate independently.
- Develop a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and excellence among staff.
- Ensure the seamless transition of the hospital to the new facility, including overseeing the installation of equipment and the implementation of technology systems (CRM, ERP, HIMS).
- Monitor and manage the financial performance of the unit, optimizing resources and controlling costs.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure efficient hospital operations.
- Oversee budget management, financial planning, and resource allocation.
2. Automation & Technology Integration:
o Oversee the selection and integration of automation partners for CRM, ERP, and HIMS systems, ensuring these systems enhance operational efficiency.
o Set and adhere to timelines for the implementation of technology solutions that support the hospital’s growth and sustainability.
- Compliance and Quality Assurance:
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including healthcare standards and accreditation requirements.
- Monitor and improve quality of care and patient safety through regular audits and evaluations.
- Address and resolve patient/ client/ partner/ tie up/ staff complaints and concerns in a timely and effective manner.
- Team development and Staff Management:
- Supervise and support hospital staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
- Recruit, train, and mentor key managers and staff, ensuring they are equipped to handle their responsibilities independently.
- Develop and enforce non-compete agreements and security deposit policies to prevent staff poaching and job hopping.
- Create a robust training program for staff, particularly in areas where the hospital has limited experience, such as marketing, sales and operations.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Promote professional development and continuing education for staff.
- Strategic Planning and Strategic Development:
- Implement the strategic plan for the Dharmanagar unit, aligning it with the broader goals of Shrestha-Medwiz Group. Collaborate with the CEO and Board of Directors to set long-term goals and strategies
- Identify and capitalize on opportunities for growth, including the introduction of new services and the expansion of existing ones.
- Drive the implementation of standardized operating procedures (SOPs) across all departments.
- Development of action plans and ensuring it’s timely implementation.
- Analyze market trends and healthcare needs to inform strategic decisions.
- Patient Care and Services:
- Ensure that patient care services meet high standards of quality and efficiency.
- Ensure 100% satisfaction and value addition in client’s life
- Coordinate with medical staff to optimize patient care and service delivery.
- Oversee the implementation of patient care programs and initiatives.
7. Expansion Planning:
o Contribute to the planning and execution of regional expansion strategies, particularly as the hospital serves as a model for future units.
o Work closely with the executive team to ensure that the Dharmanagar unit’s successes are replicated in other locations.
- Community and external Relations:
- Act as a liaison between the hospital and the community, including patients, families, and local organizations.
- Maintaining all sorts of internal and external communications
- Engage with local community leaders, government officials, and other stakeholders to build strong relationships and promote the hospital’s services.
- Lead the launch of an awareness campaign (starting in Dharmanagar and then spreading it to whole Tripura and Barak valley of Assam)to attract new patients and retain existing ones.
- Making visits to potential business partners/ institutions/ sites
- Represent the hospital at public events, meetings, and conferences.
- Emergency Management:
- Develop and implement emergency preparedness and response plans.
- Coordinate with local emergency services and health departments during crises.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Management, Health care administration , Business Administration, or a related field. An advanced degree (MBA, MHA) in related field is preferred.
· Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in healthcare management, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role.
· Proven track record in hospital operations, team development, and strategic planning.
· Strong understanding of healthcare regulations, compliance, and industry best practices.
· Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
· Ability to work independently and make strategic decisions that align with the company’s goals.
