We are looking for a detail-oriented Junior Accountant to support our finance and accounts department.
Job Summary
The Junior Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accounting records, handling GST and TDS compliance, preparing financial reports, managing accounting entries in Tally Prime, and assisting with audits and taxation activities.
Key ResponsibilitiesAccounting & Bookkeeping
- Pass daily accounting entries in Tally Prime.
- Maintain accurate records of receipts, payments, sales, and purchases.
- Handle ledger scrutiny and account reconciliations.
- Create and maintain Opening Balances in Tally.
- Manage petty cash and bank transactions.
- Assist in month-end and year-end account closing activities.
GST Compliance
- Prepare and file GST returns.
- Perform GST reconciliation with books of accounts.
- Handle GST registration, amendments, and related documentation.
- Verify GST input tax credit and vendor compliance.
TDS & Taxation
- Prepare TDS workings and generate TDS challans.
- Ensure timely payment and compliance of TDS deductions.
- Assist in preparation and filing of Income Tax Returns (ITR).
- Maintain tax-related records and supporting documents.
Financial Reporting
- Prepare basic MIS reports and financial summaries.
- Support preparation of Financial Statements.
- Assist in preparing schedules and reports required by management.
Audit Support
- Assist in statutory, internal, and tax audits.
- Coordinate with auditors and provide required documentation.
- Ensure proper maintenance of accounting records and vouchers.
Excel & Reporting
- Prepare reports using Microsoft Excel.
- Use Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, filters, and formulas for data analysis.
- Generate periodic financial and operational reports.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Commerce (B.Com) or equivalent.
- 1–2 years of accounting experience.
- Good knowledge of Tally Prime.
- Working knowledge of GST filing and GST reconciliation.
- Experience in TDS challan preparation and tax compliance.
- Basic knowledge of Income Tax Return (ITR) filing.
- Knowledge of GST registration procedures.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles.
- Basic understanding of Financial Statements (Profit & Loss Account, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
- Basic knowledge of auditing processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables and advanced formulas.
- Good analytical and numerical skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- Experience in the Event Management, Hospitality, or Service Industry will be an added advantage.
- Ability to work with deadlines and manage multiple tasks.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
