We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Associate Director, Software Engineering.

In this role, you will:

Leads by doing (not managing): guides engineers/teams through complexity and raises engineering standards through day-to-day actions.
Strong engineering fundamentals with a continuous improvement mindset; willing to learn the best tool/language for the problem.
Modern delivery and operations experience: end-to-end ownership, continuous delivery/DevOps practices, and use of operational metrics (e.g., DORA).Broad engineering exposure across platform/infrastructure/function-as-a-service, plus agile values-based delivery.
AI/ML technology evolution focus: stays current on applied Artificial Intelligence (including Generative AI) and identifies practical opportunities to embed AI into Data migration workflows (e.g., intelligent automation, improved observability, developer productivity), while maintaining engineering quality.
Drive cloud cost optimization, platform reliability, and incident response excellence. Own the full migration lifecycle — strategy, planning, execution, cutover, and post-migration stabilization.
Lead cross-functional workstreams across data migration, integrations, testing, business readiness, and vendor coordination. Oversee data extraction, transformation, validation, and reconciliation between source and target platforms.
Manage risks, controls, rollback planning, and compliance sign-offs across the programme. Coordinate with card network partners (Visa/Mastercard) on certification and cutover readiness.
Report progress, risks, and key decisions to senior leadership and governance forums. Drive business readiness, operational handover, and BAU transition.

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

15+ years of software engineering experience in Credit Cards with proven experience leading a cards platform migration or major re-platforming.
Strong understanding of the card lifecycle: issuing, authorization, clearing, settlement, disputes, and statements.
Hands-on experience with data migration at scale including mapping, validation, and reconciliation.
Familiarity with card platforms like Vision Plus, FIS, Fiserv, TSYS.
Strong programme delivery skills across Agile and Waterfall models.
Excellent stakeholder management and executive communication skills.
Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Knowledge of card network certification and ISO 8583/20022 messaging. Experience with SaaS or cloud-native card platforms
