Job Overview
As an SEO Specialist, you will work closely with the SEO Strategist and senior SEO team members to execute SEO strategies that improve search visibility, website traffic, lead generation, and overall online performance for Webrunner clients.
You will be responsible for implementing on-page, off-page, local, content, analytics, and technical SEO tasks while ensuring all work follows current best practices and aligns with campaign objectives.
This is a hands-on execution role built for a multi-client SEO department. Work must be organized, proofed, and documented clearly so strategy leads can verify what changed, why it changed, and what should happen next.
The role supports contractor, home improvement, franchise, and local-service clients where SEO work needs to connect directly to lead generation, local visibility, indexed pages, stronger service pages, and measurable search performance.
How This Role Fits Into the SEO Team
- Execute SEO tasks from strategy direction, client roadmaps, audits, and approved work queues.
- Support daily and weekly handoffs by keeping task notes clear, current, and easy for the SEO lead to review.
- Document completed work with the client URL, before-state, change made, proof note or screenshot, and QA result.
- Help convert audits into implementation by identifying blockers, quick wins, page opportunities, and technical fixes.
- Collaborate with content, local SEO, GBP, technical, and off-page support as needed.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
On-Page SEO Implementation
- Optimize title tags, meta descriptions, headings, URLs, internal links, and page structure based on strategic recommendations.
- Implement keyword optimization and content formatting best practices.
- Assist with content updates and on-page improvements to increase rankings, engagement, and lead quality.
- Support service page, location page, and money-page refreshes by improving intent match, topical coverage, internal linking, and conversion clarity.
Technical SEO Execution
- Implement technical SEO recommendations including schema markup, crawlability improvements, indexing fixes, site speed optimizations, and Core Web Vitals enhancements.
- Support website QA during SEO-related updates, launches, and page deployments.
- Identify and resolve technical SEO issues impacting search performance.
- Run or support indexability checks, redirect checks, internal-link checks, schema validation, and Search Console issue reviews when assigned.
Google Business Profile and Local SEO Support
- Optimize and maintain Google Business Profiles for local SEO performance.
- Publish and manage Google Business Profile posts and updates when assigned.
- Ensure NAP consistency, accurate business information, and ongoing profile optimization.
- Support local SEO work by connecting GBP priorities with website location pages, service-area pages, citations, and review-related content opportunities.
Analytics, Tracking, Benchmarking, and Reporting Support
- Set up and maintain conversion tracking using Google Analytics 4, Google Tag Manager, and related platforms when access and campaign scope require it.
- Build and maintain SEO dashboards and reporting systems.
- Ensure the integrity and accuracy of reporting data across platforms.
- Monitor keyword rankings, organic traffic, conversions, indexed pages, and other SEO KPIs.
- Create benchmark snapshots for assigned clients, including GSC performance, index coverage, priority page movement, local visibility signals, and next-action notes.
AI Search and AEO Optimization
- Support AI-driven search optimization initiatives, including Answer Engine Optimization strategies.
- Implement structured data and content enhancements designed to improve visibility in AI-generated and featured search results.
- Stay informed on evolving SEO trends, AI search behavior, and search engine updates.
- Help build answer-ready content structures such as FAQ blocks, comparison sections, clear entity/context signals, and concise service explanations.
Content and SEO Support
- Collaborate with content teams to ensure SEO-friendly content creation and optimization.
- Assist with local SEO, service page optimization, and content enhancement initiatives.
- Support internal linking and topical authority strategies.
- Prepare or improve content briefs, FAQ expansions, blog updates, and page expansion notes so writers and strategists can move faster with stronger SEO context.
Link Building and Off-Page SEO Support
- Assist with outreach campaigns and backlink acquisition efforts.
- Support citation management and local SEO authority building activities.
- Follow approved outreach, citation, and authority-building standards; do not use spam tactics, irrelevant directories, or unapproved link placements.
SEO Audits, QA, and Implementation Proof
- Conduct routine SEO audits and implement corrective actions.
- Review websites and SEO assets for quality assurance and compliance with SEO best practices.
- Ensure tasks are completed accurately, efficiently, and on schedule.
- Translate audit findings into actionable tasks with priority, affected URL, recommended fix, owner lane, acceptance criteria, and completion proof.
- Before marking work complete, include a short proof note that explains what changed and how it was checked.
Expected Work Outputs
The exact workload may change by client, but the role should be able to support recurring SEO production in a way that is consistent, trackable, and easy to review.
- GSC, GBP, indexing, ranking, or traffic benchmark snapshots.
- Technical and indexability QA checks with issue notes and recommendations.
- Keyword, competitor, or page-opportunity maps for assigned clients.
- Service page, location page, or money-page implementation support.
- Blog, FAQ, content expansion, or content refresh support.
- Schema, internal-linking, metadata, and content-structure implementation tasks.

Quality Standards
- No SEO task should be marked complete without the affected URL or asset, the change made, and the QA result.
- No website or GBP change should be published without following the assigned approval and QA process.
- No content should invent claims, guarantees, locations, services, credentials, or statistics without source support or approval.
- No off-page task should use spam, irrelevant placements, low-quality directories, or unapproved link tactics.
- Every meaningful implementation task should make future review easier, not harder.
Success Measures
- Tasks are completed on time and require minimal rework after QA.
- Implementation notes make it clear what changed and why it matters.
- Priority pages, local pages, content updates, and technical fixes move from audit finding to completed action.
- Tracking, reporting, and benchmark data remain accurate and useful.
- The SEO team can scale client work without losing strategy control, quality, or accountability.
Role Boundaries
- This is an SEO role, not a paid ads role.
- The role supports strategy execution but does not replace senior SEO strategy, client direction, or final QA ownership.
- Client-facing recommendations, final publishing decisions, major redirects, large content changes, and high-impact technical changes should follow the assigned approval path.
