Designation: Empower Chromatography Data System (CDS) System Administrator (Instruments Focus)
Qualification: Bachelor's Degree in Life Sciences, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline. Master's Degree is an added advantage.
Experience:Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience in CDS administration (preferably Waters Empower), with strong expertise in laboratory instrument integration and support within regulated pharmaceutical, biotechnology, CRO, or life sciences environments. Exposure to Chromeleon CDS is preferred.
Certifications (Preferred)
- Vendor certification/training in Waters Empower CDS Administration.
- GxP / CSV (Computer System Validation) certification.
- Instrument qualification or laboratory systems administration training.
- ITIL Foundation certification (preferred).
Work Location:Remote (India) - Working in collaboration with US Service Delivery Team, supporting US Biopharmaceutical clients.
Work Timing: Must be willing to work full PST business hours.

Job Role: The Empower CDS System Administrator will be responsible for the administration, maintenance, support, and continuous improvement of chromatography data systems, with a primary focus on instrument connectivity, configuration, troubleshooting, and lifecycle management. The role requires close collaboration with laboratory scientists, instrument vendors, quality teams, validation teams, and IT stakeholders to ensure reliable, compliant, and efficient operation of chromatography platforms within a GxP-regulated environment. The ideal candidate should possess strong hands-on experience with analytical laboratory instruments, Empower CDS administration, instrument integrations, and compliance requirements within pharmaceutical and biotechnology organizations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer and support Waters Empower CDS environments.
- Configure, integrate, and troubleshoot chromatography instruments (HPLC, UPLC, GC).
- Manage instrument connectivity, onboarding, and lifecycle activities.
- Perform user access management, security administration, and periodic reviews.
- Support CDS upgrades, patches, and system maintenance activities.
- Participate in system validation, change control, and compliance initiatives.
- Troubleshoot and resolve CDS, instrument, and application-related issues.
- Ensure compliance with GxP, 21 CFR Part 11, and Data Integrity requirements.
- Create and maintain SOPs, system documentation, and support records.
- Collaborate with laboratory, QA, Validation, IT teams, and vendors to ensure reliable system operations.
Required Skills:
- Hands-on administration and support experience with Waters Empower CDS.
- Strong knowledge of chromatography instruments (HPLC, UPLC, GC) and their integrations.
- Experience in instrument configuration, connectivity, and troubleshooting.
- Good understanding of GxP, 21 CFR Part 11, and Data Integrity requirements.
- Experience supporting laboratory systems in pharmaceutical or biotechnology environments.
- Knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, and basic networking concepts.
- Strong problem-solving, root cause analysis, and documentation skills.
Desired Skills:
- Experience with Chromeleon CDS administration and support.
- Knowledge of laboratory informatics systems such as LIMS, ELN, or SDMS.
- Exposure to computer system validation (CSV) and audit support activities.
- Familiarity with ITIL-based incident, change, and problem management processes.
- Experience supporting global laboratory operations in a regulated environment.
