Job Description: Data Acquisition Support Technician / Engineer

Department: Aerothermal Laboratory

Experience Level: 2 to 3 Years

Employment Type: Full-time

Position Overview

The Aerothermal Laboratory is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Data Acquisition Support Engineer/Technician . In this role, you will be responsible for the seamless operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of laboratory instrumentation, data acquisition systems, and electrical panels. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise in electrical/electronics systems with a proactive approach to laboratory safety and preventive maintenance.

Key Responsibilities1. Systems Automation & Hardware Support

Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers) and HMI (Human-Machine Interface) systems.
Manage network connections and communication protocols relating to data acquisition equipment.
Monitor daily instrument and equipment functionality to ensure zero downtime during critical testing phases.

2. Electrical Wiring & Instrumentation

Prepare detailed electrical wiring diagrams and accurately interpret complex panel layout diagrams.
Perform hands-on wiring and power cabling for a variety of instruments and sensors connected to laboratory equipment.
Execute rigorous Loop Checking of field instrumentation, IO modules, and sensors to ensure signal integrity.

3. Maintenance, Calibration & Troubleshooting

Diagnose technical breakdowns in an efficient, systematic manner and perform rapid troubleshooting on electronics and electrical circuits.
Identify instrument abnormalities and implement corrective actions/rectifications promptly.
Plan, schedule, and execute Preventive Maintenance (PM) and calibration schedules for all laboratory instruments to maintain data accuracy.

4. Safety, Compliance & Administration

Strictly adhere to and enforce laboratory safety protocols, standards, and procedures to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
Maintain meticulous housekeeping standards inside and outside the laboratory areas.
Utilize Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams) for documentation, reporting, scheduling, and team collaboration.

Candidate Profile & QualificationsCriteriaRequirementsEducationDiploma or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering , Electronics Engineering , or a closely related discipline.Experience2 to 3 years of hands-on experience in test labs, automation, or industrial instrumentation environments.Technical SkillsProficient in PLCs/HMIs, circuit troubleshooting, loop checking, and basic networking.Soft SkillsStrong verbal and written communication skills; excellent problem-solving mindset and attention to detail.

Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹22,000.00 per month
