Job Description:

A security guard is responsible for maintaining the safety and security of an assigned area, including buildings, property, and personnel. They act as a deterrent to criminal activity and ensure compliance with safety regulations and protocols. Security guards often work in various settings, including commercial properties, residential areas, and public events.

Key Responsibilities:

Patrol and Monitoring:
Conduct regular patrols of the premises to deter and detect signs of illegal activity, hazards, or irregularities.
Monitor surveillance equipment and respond promptly to any suspicious activity or alarms.
Access Control:
Manage access to buildings or restricted areas by checking identification and issuing visitor passes.
Ensure that only authorized personnel enter specific areas and manage entry/exit logs.
Emergency Response:
Respond to emergency situations, including alarms, medical emergencies, and natural disasters.
Assist emergency services (police, fire, medical) as needed and provide clear and accurate information about the situation.
Incident Reporting:
Document and report all incidents, breaches, or irregularities in a clear and detailed manner.
Prepare incident reports and maintain accurate records for future reference or investigations.
Enforcement of Rules:
Enforce company policies and procedures, including safety protocols, operational guidelines, and regulatory compliance.
Address and resolve conflicts or disturbances in a calm and professional manner.
Customer Service:
Provide assistance and information to employees, visitors, and the general public as required.
Offer a welcoming and professional demeanor while maintaining security protocols.
Safety Inspections:
Conduct safety inspections of buildings and property to identify and report potential hazards.
Ensure that fire extinguishers, alarms, and other safety equipment are in proper working order.
Property Protection:
Safeguard property and assets from theft, vandalism, and damage.
Lock and unlock doors as required and ensure that security systems are activated or deactivated appropriately.
Collaboration:
Work closely with other security personnel, management, and law enforcement agencies to ensure a coordinated approach to security.
Participate in security meetings and training sessions to stay updated on best practices and protocols.

Skills and Qualifications:

Education: High school / SSLC or equivalent .
Experience: Previous experience in security or law enforcement is preferred but not always required.
Skills: Strong observational skills, attention to detail, excellent communication, and problem-solving abilities. Physical fitness and the ability to handle stressful situations are also important.
Certifications: Some positions may require specialized training or certifications, such as first aid, CPR, or specific security training programs.
