Role Overview
We are seeking a hands-on Engineering Manager to lead delivery teams across client engagements while staying close to the code. You will carry both the technical credibility to earn the respect of engineers and the people instinct to bring out their best work. This is not a role where management replaces engineering — it is a role where both coexist.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage cross-functional engineering teams across active client engagements — setting direction, removing blockers, and holding delivery accountability.
- Stay hands-on: participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and technical decisions; not as an observer but as a contributor.
- Work directly with clients across industries to understand requirements and translate them into executable engineering plans.
- Drive short intelligent delivery loops — sprint planning, progress visibility, and course correction without big-bang surprises.
- Hire, mentor, and grow engineers within the studio; build capability without creating dependency.
- Collaborate closely with AI Architects, designers, and data engineers
- Own engineering quality: code standards, review culture, test discipline, and production readiness.
- Establish and maintain DevOps and delivery practices: CI/CD, observability, incident response, and deployment hygiene.
- Contribute to Finiteloop's internal frameworks and delivery thinking — how we work is itself something we continuously improve.
- Be the confidant of senior management, and constructively engage in organization building.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of software engineering experience with 3+ years in a lead or management role.
- Strong hands-on development background in : Python, Node.js, React, Microsoft, Java — with the credibility to review and guide engineers on technical decisions.
- Strong familiarity with AI tools and ability to learn in this fast changing environment.
- Experience managing delivery across multiple concurrent workstreams or client engagements.
- Proven ability to run agile delivery — sprint planning, retrospectives, velocity tracking — without making process the point.
- Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure (Azure, AWS, or GCP), containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes), and modern DevOps practices.
- Strong communicator — able to hold honest conversations with clients and with engineers, and to translate between the two when needed.
- Comfortable in a consulting or studio environment: multi-client, fast-context-switching, outcome-focused.
- Ability to lead in a dynamic, start-up environment where the playbook is often written in real time.
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to AI/ML-integrated product delivery — working alongside data scientists or AI engineers to ship models into production.
- Familiarity with MLOps, data pipelines, or AI-augmented development workflows.
- Background in Agile or iterative delivery environments; comfortable with short cycles and visible progress.
- Experience working in or alongside GCC or embedded team models.
- Experience in industries such as maritime, FMCG, manufacturing, or enterprise SaaS.
- If you are in South Bangalore, you have a locational advantage.

Pay: From ₹1,500,000.00 per year
