Worked there for 2 years as a sale assistant, chased a shoplifter (which isn't in my job title yet they expect me too), retrieved the goods only for the manager not to say well done and not praise me, even said i might not get rewarded yet I saved them £250.

Secondly the staff they employ are terrible, phoning in sick every day which makes everyone in the store ten times stressful as it gets much harder.

The manager just stands around not helping staff on a busy day and moaning at us for talking for 1 minute when he talks to the staff at the back of the store the most! Picks on the people who he knows he can and chats away to the others who stick up for themselves when they get away with not doing there job properly.

Terrible management in terms of getting the workers motivated and giving us jobs to do throughout the day. A typical day in work is coming in at 9:00, doing delivery if one of the days, standing around, standing around, doing standards, doing more standards, doing more standards at 5:55 and doing more standards at 5:55

Prepare for stress from customers coming up to you when you have 10 shoes in your hand and customers ruining your standards at 5:59.

All in all a decent and very easy and extremely boring first job with a lot of gossip going on every day and people slagging each other off behind there back.

Jd sports is by far the worst job i have been where immature little snakes are running the place. I have worked in jd sports for a year now and i have been overworked and been treated the worst by everyone.i live 2 hours away from my jd sports and they knew about it but they always put me on lates everyweek and i felt like i was going to collapes also a few weeks ago blood started pouring out my nose and mouth because i wasnt getting any rest. The manager has his favourites he has given them all supervisor jobs and everyone else has just been forgotten about.

If u like ur life then dont work hear im 20 years old but i feel like 50 with the damage they have done to me. I am also going to take them to a employment tribunal.

Its not great. 
I believe i learned how to not trust anyone.
Management, I think there are 2 I like, the rest are not that great.
The workplace cullture is like. Some people with slap the race card down on people quicker than a childs game of snap. And its a little embaressing. Lots of people been fired for false claimes of this.
Hardest part of the job is stepping through the front door.

Not the best place to work, something usually goes wrong on a daily basis, be it a process issue or an IT issue.

The atmosphere is toxic and passive bullying is common and accepted. Laziness is tolerated; if you have a strong work ethic, you'll likely become frustrated. The majority of the department are unskilled young people but the pay is good, if you're happy to trade it for burnout.

If you're good at something, such as taking phone calls, you're given that job permanently. If you're looking for variety in the role, think again. Unless you're a sycophant, there's a glass ceiling in place.

In conclusion: do NOT work at JD Sports, it'll eat away at your soul.

Majority of management dont seem to have a clue what they are doing. Its a case of if your face fits as to how you are treated. The toilet facilities are disgusting with people blocking toilets with toilet roll and then using afterwards. Theres a few decent team leaders and supervisors but they are very few and far between

started as a Xmas temp and got keep on for few hours a wk. 4-10hrs,
day at work was enjoyable working and connecting with the colleagues.  i learn how lace trainers properly lol. learn all different types and names off certain trainers and shoes. management were great with me and other around. hardest part of job was a Xmas and when kid go bk to school. cos that's most  busiest times. also that the most enjoy part to all kids wee faces getting new stuff for Xmas and school.

Everyone is very nice and work is enjoyable

The manager doesn’t understand about personal issues and is an absolute cow. Certain members of staff are horrible and love to take the mick all day. All everyone cares about is them selfs and I was on the verge of walking out multiple times due to poor management. Would never recommend to work there unless you where going to become one of management’s favourites then you would be fine.

very, very, very bad place. you work like a slave. i have 52 kilos but i I have to carry 30 boxes from 17 to 24 kgs par hours. they are racist, i have been there for 2 years, best picker,and best on put away, they never give a contract. the give to white poeple worked there between 2 weeks and 3 months. shouting on poeple all the time, not allow to sit or talk to other if not white.  not recommanded
