I have Joined Morningstar in 2012, in Equity Document Collection process as Data Analyst. When i joined it was a team of two including me. As it was a new process which has been under transition process from Delhi office. Earlier the whole process was handled by Delhi Team but after transition me and my team member started handling the whole process by accomplishing the tasks assigned by our manager. 
We were used to collect Financial Documents of various companies which were under coverage from different Domicile countries like Turkey, Poland, Singapore, UK , US etc. We need to identify and analyse financial documents as per client requirement i.e document must contain all the financial statements like Balance Sheet, Income Statement and Notes with IFRS standard on priority else any of the accounting standard if IFRS is not available. We also need to check whether the Reports are consolidated or Non consolidated , audited or unaudited.
I had been promoted as Quality Analyst for both Day and Night team.
I used to Audit updated documents in the System by Data Analysts. I used to take sample checks and prepared Quality Grids with performance scores of all the Data Analysts. 
Monthly feedback session, Day Night Sync up meetings, Monthly MIS , Policy memo circulation, SOP creation to streamline the process were my other allied activities which had perform with full dedication.

Morningstar definitely has good values and mission statement to stand by. Management is very supportive and atmosphere feels more like home. It is part of India's Top 100 Great Place to work Companies. However, do not expect very high level of work if you happen to join Equity Data team as its more of collection role. The Learning for this department are almost non-existent. People who want to work in relaxed atmosphere can definitely join. However, if you are expecting to have a highly challenging role then this department is not something i would suggest to join. Also, lets not forget that the Compensation here is very low. For me the Learning were high, because i got to work on New Project/Process set-up. Got to collaborate with multiple stakeholders across offices.

The work environment is centered on fostering and supporting quality delivery of work. The people are welcoming open to help with a very strong training and learning culture. The general mindset of how to achieve goals as a team allows tasks to be completed. The company overall is growing very fast and there is a clear management communication about the expected growth plans and path. Overall the software is quite sophisticated and not that easy to learn but with the support from peers and management the learning curve is lifted.

Work culture is very good, I loved the people and environment.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
If you make lot of errors it will affect your growth a lot

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Very good, you will mostly enjoy being there, work is boring but culture is great 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
I look at the financial statements and enter the data into software

Providing job security, Providing work life balance culture, Providing extra benefits to retain their employees, Very Employee Friendly company, Team Leader level politics very disgusting (this is an only negative point for this company management). All over company is good but the career growth is very slow or might be steady.

Flexible office timing was there , I learned there at technical front Solr and Backbone javascript library & management was ok , also workplace was fantastic . Everyday We were taking the call with the Onsite counterparts which is in chicago,   we used to play caromboard  ..

I enjoyed my time with the team and company. My manager helped me with achieving my personal goals by granting me enough time for it. I could achieve my targets at work place as well with his guidance. 

Manager is micro managing which irritates. Management not able to handle projects and processes. If we consider industry standards we can see that there is a clear under payment. Also within the organisation pay rationalisation needs to be done basis the contribution of the employees

Mornigstar is the Great place to work, the kind of work culture they have is simply the Best work culture i have ever seen.

You can easily ballance your personal and professional life in M*

I would have given 5 stars to mosrningstar just a year before, but now it has drop down its goodwill to a bpo level. From being an employee friendly company it is now prgressing towards unfriendly company. Top management is disgrace to the company hired from lower bpo companies they behave as if they own morningstar.
