This International School was so far one of the best jobs I've ever had. I taught Spanish as second and third language from grade six to grade 9. The environment in the school was simply great, everyone was obnoxiously friendly, always willing to help, they were very clear with the goals I was supposed to achieve and the end of the year and I had continuous training in different areas during the entire year.

The management in the school was very friendly, since day one they made sure I was happy not only in the school but in the country. The principal of the school was constantly asking about my feelings in the schools and my suggestions.

I used to teach classes with six up to twelve students, which was very easy to handle. Most of them didn't speak proper Spanish but they enjoyed the challenge and it was easy to communicate with them in English whenever was needed.

The relationship between parents-teachers was great. Parents were very involved in the development of their kids and they always in touch with the teachers which was great for me because it's easier to teach a student when the parents are close to to the school.

This was my first teaching experience, since day one I started learning a lot of things; different teaching techniques, different curriculums. They used to organized seminars for teachers regarding different topics.

The relationship between my students and me was perfect, we were more like a student and a friend but always taking care of the line of respect.

The hardest part of the job was definitely leaving the school, I had to because I was carrying a business visa and in order to stay longer I needed an employment visa.

In today's world, one of the key performing indicators of success for an Organization is it's Culture. At Oakridge, Culture is defined by it's Openness towards learning, collaborating across functions/depts, innovative methods for various teaching practices,, Motivation from Leaders and Giving equal Opportunities for growth. 
 "Lead by an example" is what I can say about our leaders who have laid this Foundation.Work-Life Balance in Oakridge is a No match to any school/Org. Back to work after a long break/ maternity etc.. is catching up in many Corporate Org, which Oakridge has always embraced  way earlier.
I love what I am doing in Oakridge , teaching, parent interactions, coordinating, driving some of the key components with the help of teams and many more. The support given by my Leaders and colleagues is motivating me to go above and take up challenges with a positive mind. There is no work/job that comes easy way, but Attitude is what makes the Difference. Each colleague is a Leader in my view and I am Proud to say that Oakridge , true to its Vision, are creating leaders of today and tomorrow be it students or employees.
True to its International Mindedness, each person at various job levels is very approachable.

Respect,Integrity and honesty are the Best Practices School has started with and continuing for the past 15years, besides creating a safe environment for employees and students  which has  always been a Priority. I take Pride in saying that I am an Oakridger. 

When People ask me what is one thing that makes me happy about this school, I say " I am at Peace here " , how many of you can say this?? , most importantly "being a good human being" is the essence of Oakridge that I have learnt in my tenure. 
 
So, if you are Passionate,  have positive attitude and dream of making it BIG, then Oakridge is THE place.

When I go for work, I feel good. I have a sense of achievement at the end of any typical working day. I have my goals set and all the support and guidance is given if ever I require any. The atmosphere of our work place is very amicable. There is a transparency in the system.We work in a team and the team spirit is seen virtually in everything we do. Good training programs in different fields are provided to keep us updated with teaching and learning techniques. Challenging part of the job is catering to different learning needs and styles of the children. However, the most enjoyable part of this job is to see the children grow into responsible global citizens trying to make a positive change in the world. I also enjoy all the outings organized for us every once in a while. It helps to bond with the other colleagues.

The average working day is 8:15 -3:00 pm. Out of this one teaches at least 5-6 lessons of 40-45 minutes each

In private schools, the parents are the pickiest and difficult to deal with. Management is always in favour of parents as they pay high fees, hence they are treated as rich clients and not as partners or caregivers of the children.

Profiteering seems to be the main goal of the management, sadly even at the cost of losing very talented and certified teachers. This is the hardest part of the job as one keeps losing team members and the spirit of working together as a holistic group.

The children are the plus point as they are  great to work with and share one's knowledge and experience with

My typical day at work was handling and managing the events for Oakridge International School in Bangalore.I was managing educational exhibitions, overseas trips, marketing events and competitions. I learnt to do my work within the time frame since my work was based on meeting deadlines. It kept me on my toes trying to work a symmetry between the management, parents, teachers and students and encourage maximum participation from everyone. The management is open to new ideas which generate maximum participation. The workculture gives you freedom to design the programme and flexibility to implement it.  Execution of overseas international trips was the most challenging part of the job. Events involving kids and tiny tots was the most enjoyable part of my job.

Oakridge is a place where learning is generated into action. The most important of these workplace environment factors that either lead to engagement or disengagement are shown in the following diagram. You can use an engagement survey from a reputable employee survey company to measure how motivated and satisfied your employees are with their day to day responsibilities. A close consideration of each of these factors is also very useful in ensuring that employees apply the skills they learn during training programs once they return to their workplace. Tending to the structural and interpersonal aspects of each of these factors enables employees to apply the required skills in a consistent and habitual way.

To receive the students at the school main gate. After that there was a fall-in for bus drivers and bus lady guards for morning briefing and to enquiry if they have faced any problems in terms of bus, students/parents.  Buses will be sent for repairs, if any. Rest of the buses will be sent for cleaning and washing purpose. Marking of online attendance, fuel entries, Travel log sheet entries, entertainment of  students/parents requests for route/bus change etc are the routine office work.  Present at the main gate at the time of their departure and whenever students go for any out door trips.   I have learnt how to manage and control drivers and lady security guards of the civil society.

I have been working for the last 12 years in Oakridge and it has made me the best version of myself making me more patient, learning new techniques of teaching everyday and shaping my personality. It gives me a lot of flexibility in teaching and using new methodology to give a practice approach beyond textbooks for my students. I am as excited as I was on the first day of joining this school. It gives me a lot of security and happiness to come and see my children all excited about learning new topics and keeps me motivated to prepare for that topic to give them a wholesome experience of learning.

I have been working with this organization since 2009. The work environment makes me feel as if I am in my second home with my extended family. 

The constant training given by the organization moulds the teacher to enhance the skills professionally. It provides a safe and secure work environment. The organization follows a transparent mode of working and is approachable. 

My colleagues support me to boost my strength and help me to overcome my challenges.The most enjoyable part of my job is learning new things every day which builds up my skills and makes me more confident as a person.

THE WORK SPACE WAS A CONFUSED STAGE OF PLAY.I AM STILL IN A DOUBT AS TO WHICH SAYING FITS IT WELL.SHOULD I JUDGE IT BY THE MAXIM OF "CONSISTENCY IS THE SECRET OF SUCCESS" OR "CONSISTENCY IS THE HOBGOBLIN OF LITTLE MINDS"  . OAKRIDGE BEING MY FIRST WORK SPACE WAS ALSO THE FOUNDATION GROUND OF MY JOB ENVIRONMENT.THUS A LOT OF EXPECTATIONS AND DESIRES CENTERED AROUND IT.HOWEVER, REALITY ALWAYS SEEMS TO BE THAT WHEN HAPPINESS IS SUBTRACTED FROM EXPECTATIONS.
