About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Mould Maker to join our manufacturing facility for the production of technical ceramic components. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in mould making, machining, fitting, and maintenance, along with a good understanding of conventional machine tools.
The candidate will be responsible for manufacturing, modifying, repairing, and maintaining moulds and tooling used in the production of technical ceramics.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, manufacture, modify, and maintain moulds and tooling for technical ceramic components.
- Operate and have practical knowledge of machines such as lathe, milling machine, drilling machine, surface grinding machine, cylindrical grinding machine, and other conventional machining equipment.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, dimensions, tolerances, and technical specifications.
- Carry out precision machining, fitting, grinding, polishing, and finishing of mould components.
- Troubleshoot mould-related problems and make necessary modifications to improve product quality.
- Maintain dimensional accuracy and surface finish of moulds.
- Perform mould assembly, fitting, trial runs, and corrections.
- Work closely with the production, design, and quality teams to resolve tooling-related issues.
- Maintain and repair existing moulds and tooling as required.
- Ensure proper documentation and maintenance of moulds and tooling.
- Suggest improvements in mould design and manufacturing methods to improve productivity and product quality.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- ITI / Diploma in Tool & Die Making, Fitter, Machinist, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- 3–8 years of relevant hands-on experience in mould making, tool making, or precision machining.
- Strong practical knowledge of lathe and milling machines is essential.
- Knowledge of grinding, drilling, fitting, and other machining operations.
- Ability to understand engineering drawings and precision measurements.
- Good knowledge of measuring instruments such as vernier caliper, micrometer, bore gauge, height gauge, etc.
- Good understanding of tolerances, fits, and surface finish.
- Ability to independently troubleshoot and modify moulds.
- Experience with moulds/tooling used for ceramics, powder processing, injection moulding, pressing, or similar manufacturing processes will be an advantage.
Preferred Candidate
We are particularly interested in candidates who are hands-on and technically strong, rather than candidates with only supervisory experience.
Experience in technical ceramics, powder metallurgy, ceramic pressing, injection moulding, or precision tooling will be highly preferred.
