Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled and hardworking ITI Technician to support the operation, inspection, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting of Railway LHB Power Car systems. The role involves working on diesel generator sets, alternators, switchboard/control panels, batteries, electrical distribution, and associated equipment used to supply power to passenger coaches. Indian Railways' LHB Power Cars use diesel-alternator sets and distribute electrical supply through power-car switchboards.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine inspection and preventive maintenance of Railway LHB Power Car equipment.
- Check and maintain DG sets, diesel engines, alternators, switchboards, feeders, batteries, battery chargers, transformers, pumps, and control circuits.
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and control-system faults and assist in breakdown rectification.
- Check and record parameters such as voltage, current, frequency, load, engine temperature, and oil pressure as required.
- Inspect electrical connections, cables, panels, fuses, breakers, and earthing arrangements.
- Assist in checking diesel levels, leakage, radiator/cooling systems, and engine-related components.
- Ensure proper power supply to coaches and safe functioning of Power Car equipment.
- Follow Railway safety procedures, PPE requirements, isolation/earthing practices, and maintenance instructions.
- Maintain maintenance checklists, logbooks, inspection records, and breakdown reports.
- Report defects, abnormalities, and equipment failures to the supervisor/engineer.
- Assist senior technicians and engineers during scheduled maintenance and repair activities.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and the Power Car work area in proper condition.
- Be willing to work in rotational shifts, including night shifts, as required for railway operations.
Qualification
- ITI in Electrician / Electrical / Diesel Mechanic / Mechanic Motor Vehicle / Electronics or relevant trade.
- NCVT/SCVT certification preferred.
- Basic knowledge of electrical systems, DG sets, alternators, motors, batteries, control panels, wiring, and troubleshooting.
Required Skills
- Basic electrical and mechanical troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of hand tools and testing instruments.
- Good problem-solving ability.
- Ability to work in a team.
- Safety-conscious and disciplined.
- Basic Hindi/Marathi communication; English knowledge will be an advantage.
Preferred Experience
- Freshers with relevant ITI qualification can apply.
- Experience in Railway Power Car, LHB coaches, EOG/HOG systems, DG sets, railway electrical maintenance, or industrial maintenance will be preferred.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
