About the Project:
The ICE Screen TB Project (Swasthya Nagaram Urban End TB Initiative) is a pragmatic randomized controlled trial aimed at evaluating the effectiveness of various mass TB screening strategies in selected municipalities of Telangana The project focuses on identifying the most effective community-wide systematic screening approach for urban areas. It seeks to evaluate whether ultra-portable chest X-ray machines with CAD, low-cost molecular tests, or targeted screening of vulnerable groups can be the most impactful in reducing TB burden in urban India.
3. ABOUT THE POSITION AND SCOPE OF WORK
About the Position
The Outreach Workersplays a key role in supporting active TB case finding by conducting household enumeration, mobilizing eligible individuals for screening, collecting sputum/tongue swab samples, and facilitating timely diagnosis and treatment linkage. The role involves close coordination with field teams, including Junior Field Officers, Lab Technicians, and Radiographers, while ensuring accurate data entry, record maintenance, and timely submission of activity reports.
Scope of Work
· Conducting household enumeration of all eligible households.
· Mobilize all eligible individuals to screening sites for X-ray units
· Collect sputum/tongue swab from the eligible individuals both at camp site and from homes whenever required
· Entering all the information in specified information system
· Assisting in follow-up of eligible and linking presumptive TB cases for diagnostic tests and people with TB for treatment
· Coordinating with field officers, lab technicians, and radiographers for smooth service delivery
· Transport sputum to the nearby designated laboratory/collection point.
· Data entry in the management information system
· Maintain all necessary records as informed by the Junior Field Officer.
4. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
· Graduate in any field
· At least one year of experience in the enumeration, health surveys
· Fluency in the regional language is mandatory.
· Preference will be given to local candidates.
· Experience of working with the National TB Elimination Program (NTEP) will be an advantage.
· Ability to work independently
· Willingness to travel extensively within the project area, as necessary.
5. COMPENSATION OFFERED
Consultancy Fee Per Month: INR 20,000
