The Senior Security Vulnerability Remediation Specialist is a targeted Infrastructure Operations role responsible for assessing, remediating, automating, and sustaining security vulnerability fixes across Hyland's internal infrastructure. Working across servers, networks, identity platforms, cloud infrastructure, and endpoint systems, this role partners closely with Cyber Security for vulnerability identification and prioritization — while owning the execution and automation of remediation within Infrastructure-managed systems.
-
Review, assess, and validate vulnerability findings from Cyber Security threat detection tools and scanners to interpret risk context, applicability, and business criticality — then determine the appropriate remediation approach.
-
Execute remediation activities including patching, configuration changes, upgrades, and mitigation controls across servers, endpoints, network devices, and platforms.
-
Partner with Engineering to design and implement automation and scripting that streamlines remediation using repeatable, scalable solutions that harden the environment and prevent reintroduction of vulnerabilities.
-
Collaborate with Infrastructure Support and Engineering teams to identify recurring vulnerability patterns and implement protocols and procedures that prevent issues from resurfacing.
-
Monitor vulnerability remediation queues, SLAs, and aging metrics to ensure commitments are met, reporting is current, and operational documentation is continuously improved.
-
Influence and contribute to the development of team remediation processes, standards, and best practices — while mentoring, coaching, and providing feedback to fellow team members.
-
Experience with vulnerability scanning or risk platforms (e.g., Rapid7 or similar)
-
Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure administration, including Windows Server, Active Directory, Azure Entra ID, and Linux environments
-
Hands-on experience with endpoint management, patch orchestration, or configuration enforcement tools (e.g., WSUS, MECM/SCCM, Microsoft Intune)
-
Proficiency in automation and scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash
-
Experience operating within a regulated or security-focused enterprise environment
-
Familiarity with infrastructure as code or automation frameworks
-
Experience working in a global or follow-the-sun operational model
-
Knowledge of cloud and virtualization platforms, including Microsoft Azure, VMware, and Hyper-V
-
Exposure to networking and security tools including firewalls (Palo Alto, Azure Firewall) and core protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP
-
Demonstrated leadership ability with a track record of mentoring team members and influencing cross-functional partners
