Role Overview
Lumenairi is a mobile-first platform. The React Native app is the primary product surface — the place where users record their stories, browse content, and engage in conversational video experiences. This role owns that surface end-to-end across iOS and Android, including video capture, playback, real-world upload behavior on imperfect networks, and the user experience tightly coupled to AI-driven interactions.
You will work alongside the Full Stack Engineer (who owns the API layer) and the Media Engineer (who owns transcoding and processing pipelines). You will ship to both the App Store and Google Play, manage release cycles, and own production stability — crash triage, OTA updates, rollback decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, maintain, and evolve the Lumenairi React Native app for iOS and Android.
- Implement video capture flows: portrait and (in roadmap) landscape, multi-shot question/answer recording, on-device buffering before upload.
- Implement video playback flows that simulate conversational interaction — minimal latency between question and answer clip playback is the product's North Star.
- Ensure reliable media uploads under real-world network conditions: chunked uploads, resume-on-reconnect, background uploads, progress reporting.
- Integrate with the API layer (Full Stack owner) and AWS S3 (direct uploads where appropriate).
- Own the release cycle: App Store and Play Store submissions, store metadata, review responses, OTA updates (CodePush or Expo Updates), staged rollouts, rollback plans.
- Instrument crash analytics (Firebase Crashlytics, Sentry, or similar) and production monitoring. Triage crashes, prioritize fixes, ship hotfixes.
- Partner with the PM on release readiness and with the AI Engineer on conversational UX surface (question suggestion bar, category browsing, voice input).
- Support multi-lingual UI including right-to-left languages (Hebrew, Arabic) — this is shipped behavior and must be maintained as features evolve.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of mobile development, with at least 3 years in advanced React Native.
- Production media handling experience: video capture, playback, or both. You have shipped a feature where media reliability was the core problem.
- Performance optimization experience: render performance, memory management, large-list virtualization, native bridge tuning.
- App Store and Play Store release experience: store submissions, review handling, staged rollouts, version pinning.
- Crash triage workflow: you have used Crashlytics, Sentry, or similar in production and acted on the data.
- OTA update tooling: CodePush, Expo Updates, or equivalent. You have made the call on what is and isn't safe to ship over the air.
Pay: ₹600,000.00 - ₹1,000,000.00 per year
