Job Summary
Sri Muthukumaran Medical College Hospital & Research Institute (SMMCHRI) invites applications from qualified and experienced candidates for the position of Associate Professor – Dental. The ideal candidate should possess excellent teaching, clinical, research, and academic leadership skills in accordance with the Dental Council of India (DCI) / National Dental Commission (NDC) norms, as applicable.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate (BDS) and postgraduate (MDS) students through lectures, clinical demonstrations, seminars, and practical sessions.
- Supervise clinical training and patient care in the respective dental specialty.
- Guide undergraduate and postgraduate students in academics, research, dissertations, and case presentations.
- Participate in curriculum planning, examinations, assessments, and academic activities.
- Conduct and publish research in indexed journals.
- Organize and participate in CMEs, workshops, conferences, and faculty development programs.
- Ensure compliance with DCI/NDC regulations and institutional academic standards.
- Contribute to departmental administration, accreditation, inspections, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Mentor junior faculty, residents, and students.
Eligibility
- MDS in the relevant Dental specialty from a recognized institution.
- Must fulfill the eligibility criteria for the post of Associate Professor as per DCI/National Dental Commission (NDC) norms.
- Required teaching experience and research publications as prescribed by the regulatory authority.
- Valid registration with the State Dental Council.
