We are seeking a proactive and experienced Safety Officer to join our team and ensure a safe and compliant working environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of safety regulations, experience conducting audits, and a passion for promoting safety standards throughout the organization. As a Safety Supervisor, you will play a critical role in identifying potential hazards, conducting inspections, and providing training to ensure the well-being of all employees.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safety Audits & Inspections:
- Conduct regular workplace safety audits such as CSMS audits, severity audits, and other safety inspections to assess compliance with safety regulations and identify areas for improvement.
- Compliance Management:
Ensure that workplace safety standards and regulations are consistently met. Keep the workplace in compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations.
- Hazard Identification & Mitigation:
Proactively identify and assess potential hazards in the workplace. Work to mitigate risks and ensure that appropriate actions are taken to eliminate or minimize hazards. Provide ongoing training and guidance to employees on safety protocols, emergency procedures, and best practices. Foster a culture of safety awareness and encourage adherence to safety standards. Prepare and maintain safety-related documents, records, and reports. This includes maintaining accurate reports of audits, inspections, incident investigations, and safety training. Design, implement, and monitor safety training programs to ensure that all staff are informed about safety policies and practices. Investigate workplace accidents and near misses to determine root causes. Develop and implement corrective actions to prevent future incidents. Continuously evaluate and improve safety protocols, procedures, and training programs to enhance overall workplace safety.
Qualifications:
- Education: ADIS or Equivalent
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in conducting safety audits and implementing safety standards.
- Certification: JNTVTI certification is a must. NEBOSH and IOSH certifications are a strong advantage.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of workplace safety regulations and industry standards.
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Ability to lead safety initiatives and guide teams to adhere to safety practices.
- Analytical mindset to assess risks and suggest improvements.
- Strong organizational skills to maintain records, reports, and training schedules.
