Job Summary
The Hardware & IT Executive is responsible for maintaining the organization's IT infrastructure, including desktops, laptops, printers, networks, servers, CCTV systems, biometric devices, and other IT assets. The role ensures uninterrupted IT operations by providing technical support, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, maintaining network security, and coordinating with vendors when required.
Key Responsibilities
Hardware Management
- Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, and peripheral devices.
- Diagnose and repair hardware faults and coordinate warranty replacements.
- Maintain inventory of IT hardware and accessories.
- Perform preventive maintenance of all IT equipment.
- Ensure timely replacement or upgrade of outdated hardware.
Software & System Support
- Install, configure, and update operating systems and application software.
- Troubleshoot software-related issues and ensure system stability.
- Manage antivirus installations and security updates.
- Perform regular system backups and recovery procedures.
Network Administration
- Configure and maintain LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
- Coordinate with internet service providers for uninterrupted connectivity.
- Maintain VPN access and remote connectivity solutions.
User Support
- Provide first-level and second-level technical support to employees.
- Resolve IT tickets within defined service levels.
- Assist employees with email, printers, software, and connectivity issues.
- Conduct user orientation for new employees regarding IT systems.
IT Security
- Ensure endpoint security and compliance with IT policies.
- Monitor unauthorized access and maintain user permissions.
- Implement password policies and data security measures.
- Support cybersecurity awareness initiatives.
IT Asset Management
- Maintain records of all IT assets and software licenses.
- Track asset allocation, movement, and disposal.
- Conduct periodic asset verification and audits.
Server & Backup Management
- Monitor server health and storage utilization.
- Ensure regular backup of critical business data.
- Assist in server maintenance and disaster recovery planning.
Vendor Coordination
- Coordinate with hardware vendors, software providers, and service partners.
- Manage Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMCs).
- Follow up on repairs, replacements, and warranty claims.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain IT documentation, network diagrams, and asset registers.
- Prepare reports on IT inventory, incidents, and maintenance activities.
- Document standard operating procedures for IT support.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of computer hardware and troubleshooting.
- Experience with Windows operating systems and Microsoft 365.
- Knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, LAN/WAN).
- Familiarity with routers, switches, firewalls, and Wi-Fi configuration.
- Understanding of CCTV, biometric attendance systems, and IP surveillance.
- Knowledge of Active Directory and user management is preferred.
- Experience with antivirus, endpoint protection, and backup solutions.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple support requests.
