QA Engineer / Business Analyst

Role Overview
This is a unique hybrid role that combines the analytical capabilities of a Business Analyst with the quality-driven mindset of a QA Engineer.
The successful candidate will work closely with Product Manager, Developers, Data Teams, and Business Stakeholders to understand business requirements, define functional specifications, validate solutions, and ensure the successful delivery of reliable, scalable, and user-friendly products.
Key ResponsibilitiesQuality Assurance & Testing
· Design and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scenarios based on business and functional requirements.
· Perform manual testing across web applications, APIs, data platforms, and SaaS products.
· Conduct functional, integration, regression, system, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
· Identify, document, prioritize, and track defects through to resolution.
· Collaborate with development teams to investigate issues, validate fixes, and ensure product quality.
· Participate in sprint planning, sprint reviews, and release activities to embed quality throughout the development lifecycle.
· Maintain test documentation and contribute to the continuous improvement of QA processes and standards.
Automation Testing
· Develop, maintain, and enhance automated test scripts and testing frameworks.
· Automate repetitive functional and regression test scenarios to improve testing efficiency and coverage.
· Execute and monitor automated test suites as part of the release and deployment process.
· Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous delivery.
· Utilize modern automation tools such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or equivalent frameworks.
· Continuously improve automation coverage, reliability, and effectiveness.
Business Analysis
· Engage with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document requirements.
· Facilitate requirement-gathering sessions, workshops, and stakeholder discussions.
· Prepare and maintain:
o Business Requirement Documents (BRDs)
o Functional Requirement Documents (FRDs)
o User Stories
o Use Cases
o Process Flows
o Acceptance Criteria
· Translate business needs into clear and actionable functional specifications for development teams.
· Support requirement validation and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities.
· Act as a liaison between business users and technology teams to ensure successful project delivery.
Data Analysis & Business Insights
· Analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, business opportunities, and potential risks.
· Generate actionable insights to support product strategy, sales initiatives, operational improvements, and business growth.
· Define, monitor, and report on key business metrics and KPIs.
· Conduct ad-hoc analysis and root cause investigations to support decision-making.
· Present findings, recommendations, and insights to stakeholders in a clear and meaningful manner.
· Support strategic initiatives through data-driven analysis and reporting.
Data Validation & SQL Analysis
· Validate large datasets and ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across systems.
· Write complex SQL queries for testing, reporting validation, and data verification.
· Perform data reconciliation, audit checks, and quality assurance activities.
· Investigate and troubleshoot data-related issues in collaboration with engineering and data teams.
· Validate dashboards, reports, APIs, analytics outputs, and business intelligence solutions.
Technical Skills & Competencies
QA & Testing
· Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).
· Hands-on experience with manual testing methodologies and best practices.
· Experience in functional, integration, regression, API, system, and UAT testing.
· Strong defect management, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis skills.
· Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
Automation Testing
Hands-on experience with one or more of the following:
· Selenium
· Playwright
· Cypress
· TestNG / JUnit
· Other modern automation frameworks
Experience in:
· Designing and maintaining automation frameworks
· Web and API test automation
· CI/CD integration and automated release validation
SQL & Data Validation
Strong expertise in SQL, including:
· Complex joins
· Subqueries
· Aggregations
· Window functions
· Stored procedures
· Query optimization
· Data reconciliation and validation
Experience with:
· MySQL
· PostgreSQL
· Microsoft SQL Server
API Testing:
· Postman
· Swagger / OpenAPI
· REST APIs
· JSON validation and troubleshooting
Tools & Platforms:
· Jira
· Git
· Test Management Tools
· CI/CD tools (preferred)
Preferred Skills:
· Experience working with SaaS products and enterprise applications.
· Exposure to Construction Technology Infrastructure Technology, or Data Analytics platforms.
· Understanding of Business Intelligence (BI) and Data Analytics solutions.
· Exposure to AWS or other cloud platforms.
· Basic understanding of ETL processes and data pipelines.
· Familiarity with Python or similar scripting languages for automation and data validation.
· Experience working with data-intensive applications, reporting platforms, and analytics solutions.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
· Relevant certifications such as ISTQB, Agile, Business Analysis, Automation Testing, or equivalent certifications will be considered an advantage.
Experience:
· 3–5 years of experience in Quality Assurance, Business Analysis, or a hybrid QA-Business Analyst role.
· Proven experience working with software product companies, SaaS platforms, or data-driven applications.
· Prior experience in Construction Technology, Data Analytics, Market Intelligence, or B2B SaaS platforms will be highly preferred.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
