About the Role
Optorium Opticals is looking for an experienced and customer-focused Senior Optometrist to join our premium eyewear retail team. The candidate will be responsible for providing accurate eye examinations, professional vision consultations, eyewear dispensing, and excellent customer experience while supporting store sales and team performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive eye examinations, refraction, and vision assessments.
- Perform accurate subjective and objective refraction and prescription analysis.
- Identify common vision problems and recommend appropriate corrective solutions.
- Dispense spectacles, progressive lenses, contact lenses, and other optical products.
- Recommend suitable frames and lenses based on prescription, lifestyle, facial features, and customer preferences.
- Explain lens types, coatings, progressive lenses, and other optical solutions clearly to customers.
- Handle premium, branded, and fashionable eyewear with strong product knowledge.
- Ensure high standards of customer service and clinical accuracy.
- Support the sales team in converting consultations into suitable eyewear solutions.
- Achieve individual and store-level sales and service targets.
- Handle customer queries, complaints, and eyewear-related concerns professionally.
- Maintain accurate customer records, prescriptions, and follow-up details.
- Ensure proper usage and maintenance of optometry equipment.
- Follow company SOPs, clinical standards, hygiene, and safety procedures.
- Train and guide junior optometrists and sales team members on basic optical product knowledge and customer handling.
- Support the Store Manager in daily store operations when required.
Requirements
- Diploma / B.Optom / M.Optom from a recognized institution.
- 3–6 years of experience in optical retail or eyewear stores.
- Strong knowledge of refraction, binocular vision, dispensing, and optical products.
- Good understanding of spectacle lenses, progressive lenses, coatings, frames, and contact lenses.
- Hands-on experience with autorefractor, lensometer, trial frame, keratometer, and other optometric equipment.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Good sales orientation with a customer-first approach.
- Ability to mentor and guide junior team members.
- Professional grooming and a positive attitude.
- Knowledge of English and Telugu; Hindi will be an added advantage.
Preferred Candidate
We are looking for someone who is clinically strong, confident with customers, knowledgeable about branded eyewear, and comfortable working in a premium retail environment.
Salary & Benefits
