Job Summary
The Pricing Executive is responsible for preparing competitive freight quotations, coordinating with carriers and overseas agents, and supporting the sales team with accurate pricing for air and ocean freight shipments. The role requires strong knowledge of freight forwarding, excellent communication skills, and experience handling the US logistics market.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and submit competitive quotations for air freight, ocean freight, and multimodal shipments.
- Coordinate with shipping lines, airlines, trucking companies, and overseas agents to obtain competitive freight rates.
- Negotiate rates with carriers and vendors to maximize profitability.
- Maintain and update freight rate databases and pricing records.
- Support the sales team by providing timely and accurate pricing for customer inquiries.
- Analyze customer requirements and recommend cost-effective transportation solutions.
- Monitor market trends, carrier rate changes, and industry updates.
- Ensure pricing complies with customer requirements, company policies, and service standards.
- Follow up on quotations and coordinate with operations to ensure a smooth shipment process.
- Prepare reports on quotations, pricing performance, and business opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Commerce, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in freight forwarding pricing, preferably handling the US process.
- Experience in air freight, ocean freight (FCL/LCL), and inland transportation pricing.
- Knowledge of Incoterms, international shipping documentation, and freight forwarding operations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and freight management software/ERP systems.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work in US night shifts and manage multiple priorities under deadlines.
Preferred Skills
- Experience working with NVOCCs, shipping lines, airlines, and overseas agents.
- Knowledge of import/export procedures and customs regulations.
- Strong customer service orientation and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with carriers and vendors.
