Job Profile – Business Development Manager
Product: Nipco Water Tanks & Pipes
The Area Sales Manager (ASM) is responsible for appointing, managing, and growing distributor & dealer networks for Nipco Water Tanks & Pipes. The role focuses on building a strong sales channel, driving primary & secondary sales, ensuring proper product availability, and building long-term relationships with trade partners (distributors, dealers, retailers, and influencers like plumbers & contractors).
Key Responsibilities1. Distributor Management
- Identify, appoint, and onboard new distributors in uncovered areas.
- Ensure timely order placement, stock rotation, and adequate inventory.
- Monitor distributor ROI, claims, payments, and credit discipline.
- Strengthen relationships through regular visits and business reviews.
2. Dealer & Retail Network Expansion
- Expand the dealer network (hardware shops, plumbing stores, building material dealers).
- Drive sales through retailer schemes, discounts, and merchandising support.
- Ensure product display, visibility, and availability across counters.
- Conduct retailer meets and incentive programs.
3. Sales & Market Development
- Achieve sales targets (primary billing + secondary movement).
- Build strong Connect with plumbers, contractors, and builders to influence product usage.
- Generate demand through influencer engagement, shop branding, and plumber loyalty schemes.
- Track competitor activities in pricing, product placement, and schemes.
4. Reporting & Team Management
- Guide and motivate Territory Sales Officers / Executives to maximize market reach.
- Collect and report sales data, competitor intelligence, and market insights.
- Prepare MIS reports on distributor sales, dealer performance, and secondary sales.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of distributor & dealer sales model in building material industry.
- Experience in managing channel sales (tanks, pipes, cement, paint, tiles, hardware).
- Good negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
- Ability to develop markets from scratch and expand coverage.
Qualifications & Experience
- Graduate / MBA preferred.
- 5–8 years of experience in pipes, tanks, building material, cement, or hardware distribution.
- Proven ability to handle distributors & dealer networks successfully
