Educational Qualification
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related discipline.
- MBA or Master's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Procurement, or Logistics will be an added advantage.
Years of Experience
- 10–15 years of experience in Strategic Sourcing, Procurement, Supply Chain, Vendor Development, and Logistics.
- Minimum 5 years in a managerial or leadership role.
- Experience in procurement of Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Motors, Controllers, UAV, Aerospace, Automotive, or Industrial products is preferred.
Position Summary
- The Manager – Sourcing & Procurement is responsible for developing sourcing strategies, managing supplier relationships, tactical purchasing, logistics, and procurement operations to support manufacturing and new product development.
- The role focuses on ensuring uninterrupted material availability while achieving cost optimization, supplier performance, quality, and delivery objectives.
- The Manager collaborates with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Finance, and Global Supply Chain teams to ensure timely procurement and efficient supply chain operations.
- This position plays a key role in driving localization, supplier development, cost reduction, and procurement excellence for ePropelled's global operations.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Management (P2P)
- Develop and implement sourcing strategies for direct and indirect materials.
- Identify, evaluate, qualify, and develop domestic and international suppliers.
- Conduct supplier negotiations covering pricing, commercial terms, contracts, and delivery schedules.
- Drive supplier localization, value engineering, supplier consolidation, and cost reduction initiatives.
- Develop long-term supplier partnerships to improve supply continuity and business performance.
- Conduct supplier audits, supplier performance reviews, and continuous improvement programs in line with ISO requirements.
2. Tactical Purchasing & Procurement Operations
- Manage end-to-end Purchase-to-Pay (P2P) procurement activities.
- Execute daily purchasing activities to ensure uninterrupted material availability.
- Monitor supplier acknowledgements, purchase orders, and delivery commitments.
- Expedite critical materials to support production schedules.
- Coordinate procurement activities with Production Planning, Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and Finance teams.
- Manage purchase requisitions, approvals, procurement documentation, and ERP transactions.
- Monitor supplier delivery performance and improve procurement lead times.
3. Logistics & Supply Chain Management:
- Manage domestic and international inbound and outbound logistics.
- Coordinate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, transporters, and warehouse partners.
- Ensure import/export compliance and customs clearance activities.
- Monitor shipment planning, tracking, and on-time deliveries.
- Optimize transportation costs while maintaining delivery performance.
4. Vendor Development & Cost Optimization:
- Develop new suppliers to support business growth and supply continuity.
- Execute supplier benchmarking and market analysis.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities through localization, alternate sourcing, and process improvements.
- Participate in new product sourcing and supplier selection activities.
- Support engineering teams with value engineering initiatives.
5. Supplier Quality & Compliance:
- Work closely with Quality teams to ensure supplier compliance with quality standards.
- Support supplier audits, corrective actions, and supplier development initiatives.
- Ensure suppliers comply with ISO 9001, environmental, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement in supplier quality and delivery performance.
6. Team Leadership:
- Lead and mentor sourcing, procurement, and logistics teams.
- Define team objectives and monitor procurement KPIs.
- Encourage cross-functional collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Support employee development through coaching and performance reviews.
7. Reporting and Performance Management:
- Prepare procurement dashboards and KPI reports.
- Track cost savings, supplier performance, inventory, and procurement metrics.
- Present sourcing updates, procurement risks, and mitigation plans to senior management.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and procurement planning activities.
8. Quality and Compliance:
- Ensure that all projects and supply chain activities adhere to Quality Management Systems ISO 9001:2015.
- Collaborate with quality teams to resolve issues and improve processes.
- Ensuring the Product Quality meets the specifications.
Tools & Technical Requirements:
1. Tools:
- Project Management Tools: odoo and ARENA.
- ERP & Procurement Tools: SAP (MM/PP/SD modules),OODO, Oracle SCM Cloud, or similar ERP systems.
- Data Analysis Tools: Power BI, Tableau, Excel (advanced), or similar.
- Collaboration Tools: Microsoft Teams, Slack, Confluence.
2. Technical Skills:
- Strategic Sourcing - Develop and execute sourcing strategies to optimize cost, quality, delivery, and supplier performance.
- Purchase-to-Pay (P2P) - Manage the complete procurement lifecycle from purchase requisition through supplier payment.
- Vendor Development - Identify, qualify, develop, and maintain high-performing domestic and international suppliers.
- Supplier Negotiation - Negotiate pricing, contracts, payment terms, lead times, and commercial agreements to achieve business objectives.
- Cost Analysis - Analyze procurement costs and implement cost reduction, value engineering, and localization initiatives.
- Procurement Planning - Plan and execute procurement activities to ensure timely material availability for production and projects.
- Import & Export Procedures - Manage international procurement activities, customs compliance, documentation, and freight coordination.
- Inventory Management - Optimize inventory levels to balance material availability, carrying costs, and production requirements.
- Logistics Management - Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics, transportation, warehousing, and delivery performance.
- Contract Management - Prepare, review, administer, and monitor supplier contracts to ensure commercial and legal compliance.
- Power BI - Develop interactive dashboards and reports to monitor procurement KPIs, supplier performance, and business insights.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel - Utilize advanced Excel functions, PivotTables, Power Query, and data analysis tools for procurement reporting and decision-making.
