Job Title: Estimation Engineer – Plumbing & Fire Fighting

Job Summary
The Estimation Engineer – Plumbing & Fire Fighting is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, quantity take-offs, BOQ analysis, vendor and subcontractor coordination, and technical bid submissions for Plumbing and Fire Fighting systems. The role requires a thorough understanding of MEP services, tender documentation, and project costing to support successful bidding and project acquisition.
Key Responsibilities
- Review tender documents, drawings, specifications, and BOQs for Plumbing and Fire Fighting works.
- Prepare quantity take-offs from drawings using manual methods or estimation software.
- Analyze tender requirements and identify scope, exclusions, and technical deviations.
- Obtain quotations from suppliers and subcontractors and evaluate them for technical and commercial compliance.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, rate analysis, and bid summaries.
- Coordinate with the design, procurement, and project execution teams for technical clarifications.
- Prepare technical and commercial bid documents within tender timelines.
- Conduct site visits, if required, to understand project conditions and scope.
- Assist in value engineering and cost optimization during the bidding stage.
- Maintain estimation records, cost databases, vendor information, and historical project data.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings and respond to client queries when required.
- Ensure compliance with applicable standards, project specifications, and company procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 3–8 years of experience in estimation of Plumbing and Fire Fighting systems for commercial, residential, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of Plumbing and Fire Fighting systems.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Experience in quantity take-off and BOQ preparation.
- Knowledge of tendering procedures and cost estimation techniques.
- Familiarity with Indian standards and relevant fire safety codes.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and MS Office.
- Exposure to estimation software will be an added advantage.
