We are currently looking for a skilled Lyo Technician to join our engineering and maintenance team.
Role Overview
As a Preventive Maintenance Lyo Technician, you will be the backbone of our sterile freeze-drying operations. Your primary focus will be executing scheduled preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and ensuring the seamless operation of our production-scale Lyophilizers. You will work within strict aseptic environments, ensuring all equipment runs efficiently while strictly adhering to cGMP guidelines and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Key Responsibilities
- Preventive Maintenance: Execute comprehensive preventive maintenance (PM) schedules for industrial Lyophilizers (freeze dryers), including associated vacuum systems, refrigeration cascades, and CIP/SIP (Clean/Sterilize in Place) skids.
- Troubleshooting & Repair: Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues to minimize equipment downtime.
- Sterile Compliance: Perform all maintenance activities while adhering to strict cleanroom protocols and aseptic behavior to prevent contamination of the sterile API environment.
- Calibration & Testing: Assist in the calibration of temperature, pressure, and vacuum sensors; conduct leak tests and filter integrity tests.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate, real-time maintenance logs, PM checklists, and breakdown reports in strict accordance with Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and cGMP.
- Continuous Improvement: Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for equipment breakdowns and suggest modifications to improve machine reliability and safety.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: ITI, Diploma, or B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, or a related technical field.
- Experience: 3 to 6 years of hands-on maintenance experience in the pharmaceutical industry, specifically within a sterile, injectable, or API facility.
- Technical Expertise: Proven, direct experience operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting production-scale Lyophilizers.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of cGMP regulations, safety protocols (LOTO), and cleanroom classifications.
- Working Style: Detail-oriented, comfortable working in cleanroom garments, and able to work flexible shifts as required by production schedules.
