About the Role
SDBI is looking for a full-time Assistant Teacher for its Mumbai campus at Patkar Varde College. This role is designed for early-career educators and subject matter enthusiasts who are passionate about teaching, student development, and academic excellence.
The Assistant Teacher will work closely with faculty members to support the delivery of undergraduate courses in Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Programming, and related subjects. The role combines classroom support, practical session assistance, student mentoring, academic administration, and content preparation.
Key Responsibilities
Classroom & Teaching Support
- Assist faculty members during lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions.
- Support classroom activities and student engagement initiatives.
- Conduct revision sessions, doubt-solving sessions, and bridge classes under faculty guidance.
- Help students strengthen foundational concepts in Mathematics, Statistics, and Programming.
- Support delivery of introductory and foundation-level courses when required.
Student Support & Mentoring
- Provide academic assistance to students outside regular classroom hours.
- Guide students on assignments, practical exercises, and project work.
- Monitor student progress and identify learning challenges.
- Maintain regular communication with students regarding academic activities.
- Encourage active participation and continuous learning.
Lab & Practical Session Support
- Assist in conducting practical sessions involving Python, SQL, Excel, Power BI, R, and related tools.
- Help students with coding exercises, debugging, and software setup.
- Ensure smooth functioning of laboratory sessions.
- Support project implementation and hands-on learning activities.
Assessments & Evaluation
- Assist faculty in preparing assignments, quizzes, and assessments.
- Support evaluation of assignments, practical submissions, and internal assessments.
- Maintain assessment records and academic documentation.
- Provide feedback to students under faculty supervision.
Content Development & LMS Management
- Prepare lecture presentations, worksheets, practice exercises, and learning resources.
- Upload and maintain content on the Learning Management System (LMS).
- Organize digital learning materials and academic resources.
- Assist in updating curriculum content and instructional materials.
Academic Coordination
- Coordinate with faculty, program coordinators, and academic teams.
- Support timetable planning and classroom scheduling activities.
- Maintain attendance records and academic documentation.
- Assist in academic events, workshops, seminars, and student engagement activities.
- Support day-to-day academic operations of the department.
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong academic background with good conceptual understanding.
- Interest in teaching, mentoring, and student development.
- Ability to explain concepts clearly and patiently.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and coordination abilities.
Technical Skills
Preferred Experience
- 2–3 years of teaching, tutoring, training, or academic support experience.
- Fresh graduates with strong academic performance and teaching aptitude may also apply.
- Experience in coaching institutes, colleges, edtech platforms, or training organizations is an advantage.
- Prior experience conducting practical sessions or mentoring students is preferred.

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
